    Ghosts of the Six-Year Void

Kit sighs. “Michelle, I’m not one to play the I told you so game—”

Michelle holds up a trembling hand, swiping at tears. “Then please don’t…”

Kit rolls her eyes. “What do you want? I’ll pass on the message…”

Michelle clenches her jaw. “I want to talk to her….”

Kit tilts her head with calm irritation. “Does that look like it’s an option for you right now, Michelle?”

Michelle snatches a stack of napkins from the dispenser, dabbing at her cheeks. “I can’t believe this shit….”

Tasha, halfway through a sip of coffee at her table, sets down her mug with a soft clink. She leans forward, eyebrows raised. “Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody make another person look so invisible. That was smooth as hell…”

Alice laughs. “Trust me, it’s warranted….” She takes a sip of her coffee and glances away as Michelle storms past, sniffling.

Michelle throws a sharp look over her shoulder. “Fuck you, Alice…”

Alice’s brow furrows. She points at herself. “What the hell are you coming after me for?”

Michelle stops and glares. “After all these years, you can’t even speak now?”

Tasha straightens in her chair, crossing her arms. “Hey…watch your mouth….”

Michelle sizes Tasha up, sneering. “Stay out of this. I don’t even know you….”

Tasha’s voice drops low and steady. “If you don’t watch how you talk to Alice, you’re gonna get to know me real well…”

Michelle scoffs one last time and stomps off, mumbling under her breath.

Alice exhales and turns to Tasha with a grin. “Ya know, I suddenly have the urge to take you right here on this table…”

Kit walks past and then doubles back. “Ah, I suggest you resist that urge,” she warns, making eye contact with both of them before disappearing inside. She gives a quiet shake of her head as the door swings shut. “Never a dull day with my baby sister and her friends….”

As much as Tina has dreaded this meeting, she never tires of walking into the boardroom that sits on the top floor of the glass tower overlooking Los Angeles. The windows offer an expansive view of the city, as the afternoon sun reflects off neighboring studio lots.

    1. Very happy to read a new chapter!

Love how you put Gigi in the story. It was besides Bette and Tina, the gang and Nathalie one of the characters i liked.

Both of them are very possessive of each other, love the term “six-year void”

Michelle, still dumb and arrogant to think Bette will talk to her after all the shit she put her through. I didn’t feel sorry for her at all.

    2. More, please!

Agree with other comments that bringing Gigi/Natalie back to the edges of the main characters was a great idea..

I’ve missed my fix on the best characters. And really love that stories are still being written here 20+ years since they were introduced to us!

      Thanks everyone!!!!
