    God’s Gift- Pt 52 (Finale)

    Chapter 52

    ***Tina***

Today I get to see my granddaughter walk down the aisle. I wish Bette were here to see this. I remember when we said our vows so many years ago. I remember holding her had when Angelica walked down the aisle. Seth was there as always for me. He was watching me closely. I could tell he knew I would be emotional. He placed his hand on my thigh when the first tear fell as I lost the battle of holding back my tears. I held his hand in mine. “Isn’t she beautiful grams?”

“Yes she is sweetie.” I smiled. “She’s beautiful.”

I am happy I really am but its hard not to think about Bette on a day like this. She should be here. I still feel cheated but we did have a full life. We had a happy life. We have a beautiful daughter in Angelica and two beautiful grandchildren. I am glad that she was alive to see them grow into wonderful young adults. I know she is here I can feel her presence like I do everyday. I listen as they say their vows of undying love for and devotion for each other. I look over at the proud parents. Angelica and Gina and Samuel and Janice. They’ve become our extended family ever since Gabrielle was pregnant with Zachary.

    ***Angelica***

I never thought I would be here watching my daughter walk down the aisle. I mean I always thought I would get married one day and have a family but the reality of it is still sinking in even after all these years. I remember when Gina and I got married. It was nothing like this. We rushed into marriage because at the time I couldn’t see any other option. Now, I know it was the right thing and the best thing I could have done with my life. I have two wonderful children and the perfect wife. My life is complete. The only thing I would change now if i can is my mother’s death. I wish she were here to see this. As I watch Seth holding mom’s hand I know she is thinking the same as me. I know she is watching me because when I smiled at her she smiled back. I mouth, “I love you.” And she did the same back to me.
