Happily Ever After part 5
The day was long for both off them. Bette had to finish her term exams, so the next Dean could start on fresh. She had allot of work to do, but managed to finish on time to get the twins of their day care and call the gang and invites them for dinner. Tina was just finishing her notes, when her cell went off.
“Hello?”
“TK, hey what’s up” Alice said from the other side.
“Alice, hey, I’m so glad to hear you!”
“Bette invites us for dinner, should we bring something?” Alice asked, knowing Bette’s cooking abilities.
“No, it’s ok. I’m cooking tonight” Tina said, gathering her things.
“Oh thank God, I could not live through another ER episode.” Alice said, referring to the last time Bette cooked dinner for her and the girls, and nearly ends in the ER.
“Hey we can play some poker tonight.” Tina suggested “We haven’t for a long time”
“Well, we could. Now, when there isn’t pool in the house, she can’t throw me in” Alice said with chuckle.
“You asked for it, I told you to not look into her cards” Tina giggled too “look I got to go, but will see you tonight, bye Al” Tina said
“Bye TK”
Tina was first at home. She throws her bag on the sofa, and went to the kitchen. She opened the fridge’s door, and looked inside. She exhaled; its look like someone had forgot to go grocery shopping this week. She dialed Bette’s number. After few seconds Bette answered. In the background she heard the twins scrambling and arguing again, Bette was trying to pacifying them.
“T, I’m on my way back at home, baby” Bette said, hollering on the twins to be quiet.
“Hum, can you stop by the store and get some supplies, for tonight?” Tina asked
“What we need?”
“Bread, some vegetables, wine…oh, can you get me some ice cream, please.” Tina plead
“Is Alice coming tonight?” Bette asked, pulling to the store’s parking lot.
“Yes, why?’
“So, we need more wine, than” Bette said, unfastening the twins.”I’m heading to the store now, see you later, bye T”
“Bye Bette” Tina disconnected the line, and went into the living room, to have some rest before the dinner.
