Chapter 23

Tina pressed her head back in the head rest of her first class seat, and closed her eyes she was feeling tired, exhausted, She was not prepared for all the emotions that had come flooding back to her after seeing Bette two days, one simple touch from Bette and the wave of emotions that had taken over her thoughts since then had be enough to cause her to think of nothing but Bette  Truth be told she was happy to be going back to the place she had called home for the last three years, New York.

Jessica who had her head resting on her shoulder appeared to be fast asleep in a way Tina was happy for that, Jessica had noticed her sudden mood change and was asking questions, questions Tina was not prepared to answer.

Tina had ignored several calls from Bette, choosing instead to reply to one of her text rather than talking to her on the phone.

Bette had sent a text asking Tina if it was ok if she called her when she got into New York, Tina had replied with a simple ‘k’

Tina felt Jessica squeeze her hand.

“You should talk to her” Jessica softly said

Tina was caught off guard

“Talk to who?” Tina asked pretending not to know who Jessica was referring to.

“You know who Tina, stop pretending she has nit occupied your thoughts since that day you told me you were meeting her for lunch”

“It’s complicated” Tina replied

“She still has feelings for you” Jessica said

Tina turned her head suddenly and looked at Jessica

“And how do you know that”

“Nikki and I ran into her and Shane at The Planet during our lunch stop”

“And…”

“And Bette and I talked”

“About?”

“About you”

“What about me?” Tina needed to know

“Tina, I could tell she genuinely had your best interest at heart her intentions are not set out to hurt you, I saw it in her eyes, there is still something there”

“If she’s still anything like the Bette I knew 3 years ago, she feels very guilty and she needs me to forgive her.”
