Heart of Glass: Existentialist Poetry
“Well, hopefully I’ll be there to watch.” Tina said with a shrug.
Helena stood silently as a flood of images took her further by surprise.
Tina hurried ahead, her face growing redder by the second. “Helena, look…I’m not upset about it…you know, when I was with Henry, it just felt like…like there were no boundaries to what was possible any more. I had always though that it would be me and Bette, together forever, and it just wasn’t. Somehow it’s hard for me to be surprised by anything anymore.”
“Fair enough.” Helena mumbled, turning back to breakfast. Her frazzled and overworked mind was soothed somewhat by Tina, who came up behind her. A pair of warm hands drew Helena in for a familiar kiss. As they stood in Tina’s kitchen, their lips hungrily sought their possibilities. There would be no room for fear, Helena decided.
So on a pleasant Saturday morning, with rain cascading down outside, they shared French toast and spoke no more of their ex, nor of her new girlfriend, nor of their mutual desire for the same woman. The world did not, as it turned out, revolve around any one of them.
Later that day, Helena let herself into her apartment. Her shower was warm and soothing, and a fresh shirt and jeans were welcome afterward. She lounged on her living room floor, laying on a few plump cushions given to her by Alice for whenever she managed to find herself a couch, and listened to her answering machine. A steaming mug of tea provided an edge through the French toast and sex induced haze of her morning.
“Helena…” Bette’s voice was the first on the machine. “Just wondering if things are…well, how things are, I suppose…call me or drop by if you feel like it.”
“Drop by indeed.” Helena snorted. Suddenly though, a feeling of dread filled her. Sure she had promised herself ‘no fear’, but now the moment of truth had arrived. She would face Bette, tell her about Tina, and hope that it did not implode an already delicate situation. With a groan, she lay on her back, staring up at her ceiling. A message from Alice was next, asking her about cooking dinner that night. Helena would have to make a run for groceries, but it might distract her in a good way.

Oh my. Girls gone wild. Weho style.
Hehe … wow! .. ok, so I’m *so* behind on ‘this’ particular challenge, but quite frankly I think I should just quit now whilst I’m behind, I’m never going to be able to compete with this level of hotness!!!
silly silly! you win hands down woman! *pat on the bottom* now get to work darling;)
It’s the belena wunderkind! Um wow! No-one captures the hotness that is Bette and Helena like HB.
I’m with you rufus. I’ve always thought Bette & Helena should have gotten together on the show but I guess I’ll just have to rely on fanfics and my wild fantasies…. I’m not interested in a threesome, Tina is boring and she can’t compete on the level of sexiness of Belena.
OMG Hel that was so freaking hot and in the DEans office, gotta love it!!!
Oh my. *whispering* That was hot! It’s left me giggling like a… schoolgirl. One thing though… Tina wasn’t there to watch. Maybe next time… pps, ta!
dear god woman do i luv your writing!!!!nothing better than hot, hot, hot make up sex, lord knows you really blow us away with your writing of these two, you threw quite a curve ball with the tina angle, but i am luving every second of it!!!!as usual, can’t wait for your next post!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, i typically don’t read a lot of Bette/Helena as a “couple” but I have to admit this one was VERY well written and…just whoa. Thanks for the post, I’m waitin’ to see if there is a Bette/Tina/Helena scene…thanks again!
IMO Tina and Helena can’t compete with the off-the-charts hotness that is Belena. The threesome is shaping up to be a barn burner. As for Tina’s vow to fly solo for at least a year, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Accuse you of cheating? God, no. Just stating the obvious about the way your mind works and your works work. But I thought you said Helena was going to be the instructor? (By the way, I’m true to my word-no instructors looking or sounding like Helena at my school.) Squeaky James cracked me up. Has Helena had practice dismissing underlings, even if they aren’t her own? Well, all’s quite on the Weho front. For the moment. And if La T can play her cards right and be nice perhaps a good time can be had by all. Pants or no pants, that is the question. Once one Christmas long ago, my brothers and I took advantage of the trip from the parents home to the grandparents home as an excuse to ride in seperate cars (it was 6 adults at that point, too crowded for even Dad’s large sedan) from the parents and smoke a spliff or two along the way. The excuse one of my brothers jokingly came up with in case we were questioned about the extra time we took was that I had forgotten my underpants. But as they were my brothers, I really had them on the whole time.
