    CHAPTER 4

As Tina made her way towards Colvin’s office, she became concerned that the Desk Sergeant had been wrong and the Superintendent had, in fact, left for the day.  The floor occupied by the administrative offices was dimly lit and nearly vacant, and the desk occupied by Teresa’s assistant looked to be empty.  As the blonde crept further along the hall; however, she caught site of Teresa’s office.  The door was slightly ajar and Teresa could be seen hunched over what looked like paperwork, her silhouette highlighted by the delicate light from her desk lamp.  Tina stopped for a moment to catch her breath, for there was something fascinating about watching the brunette unawares.  Her features, normally so controlled, were soft and languid.

The blonde inched forward, her hands balled in tight fists by her side in an effort to stop them from shaking.  What if Shane was wrong?  What if she was about to humiliate herself in front of the one woman she had ever been so intensely drawn?

Fuck it, she thought to herself as she leaned against the doorway and spoke in a voice she was sure betrayed her nervousness,

    "Do you ever go home?"

Teresa Colvin froze.  She had spent the better part of the last few hours attempting to ignore the disappointment she had felt when Tina hadn’t returned to share the rest of her day.  At first, she thought the voice was just in her head, but when she looked up from her droll paperwork and saw the blonde leaning against her doorframe, her breathe caught.  All she could do was smile.  Embarrassed by her lack of words, she watched in silence as the reporter strode confidently into her office.

"I wasn’t sure if you were still here, I didn’t see anyone."

    "I sent them home."

    "And you?"

"Just wrapping up some paperwork," Colvin capped her pen and rolled it between her fingers.  She watched the blonde watch her hands, wondering what Tina could possibly find interesting about the mundane movement.

"It’s kind of late for you, too isn’t it?"

"It is."  Tina smiled and lowered herself into the chair to the left of Teresa’s desk. "I thought maybe I would thank you for allowing me to follow you around the last few days."

    1. Another really delightful chapter. A great way to start the week-end. I do enjoy the way you are guiding the hesitant dance between Tina and Teresa. I look forward to your continued writing of this story.

    2. Interesting Indeed! can’t wait to read about dinner and what comes up during the conversation. Will Tina be daring enough to make a move on Teresa? I hope so. Thanks for the post!

    3. My gosh, I love this story and can’t wait to see what happens next. Hope Tina makes a move on her once they leave the restaurant. They are both so ready for this but I’m thinking as Tina is, that Bette has never taken the time to figure it out. Oh but we know that Tina can help her a great deal with that discovery and Bette will truly enjoy the exploration. PPVS Thanks for posting.

    4. I am really loving this fic. Hopefully Teresa doesn’t think Tina has ulterior motives for spending time with her. Tina is afterall a member of the press. Can’t wait to read what happens next.

    5. Was Teresa gay? …likely that it was something the brunette had never taken the time to figure out. – Dinner was going to be interesting.” – Oh pleaaaase, is it dinner time yet?

    6. This story is amazing. I watch TCC since its inception and of course TLW for 6 years so it helps that I am familiar w/the characters mannerisms and personalities. You are right on w/these two. Please more.

    7. @socal Did you mean “having trouble separating Teresa Colvin from Bette Porter”?! =P I’ve been watching TCC episodes since it started and I REALLY think Teresa is a version of Bette in a different dimension. If Bette were a cop, she would be Teresa. Teresa is SOOOOOO GAY… I wish they would find her a Tina… BTW, I’m LOVING this story, hope you post soon. THANK YOU. =]

    8. “Teresa tried to focus on a hunger that didn’t involve the beautiful woman beside her.”… Seems to me like this would be a very good time to start figuring it out! Great Scaf, as always! This story is great! Thanx!

    9. oh hell i cant wait for the dinner to start! the tension is so making me dizzy lol! i like your tina shes so assertive and i love the fact that knowing teresa is very alpha but the moment tina is around she becomes shy and tensed and that my friend is absolutely sexy..(; im actually trying to imagine now how their first time is going to be and i bet its gonna be smokin hot!! PPS

    10. this is awesome – to have Teresa not know her sexuality is a great storyline. How this goes will be quite interesting between the ladies of course but also in light of her position. Good thing Jerek (SP?) had her back cause I imagine she will need that come politics time.
