    Highway to “L” – 2

    To the border…

Once at the border, the girls…and Max had some time to reflect on how they got to this point in the first place.  It wasn’t but 72 hours ago that they were partying it up and celebrating “the wedding that would never be” back at the resort, and now they’re sweating their tits off in almost – Mexico…Which in the literal sense would only prove beneficial to Max.

There they were, sitting in traffic, waiting for the truck to be searched and their identifications to be validated when an eerie silence fell over them.   Alice hadn’t popped a Dambien since they hit the road and Dana had now been reduced to a mere blur in her somewhat misguided psyche.  Jenny was watching Max closely and taking notes, Tina was rolling her fists in and out of a ball and Helena was afraid to say two words because really, the person who’s just along for the ride is in no position to say “boo!”

Finally, the sound of a cell phone blaring out snapped the group to attention and caused everyone’s head to spin around.  “I think that’s me, uh…yep, it’s me, I got it,” Alice said, as she reached into her pocket.  She must have turned as white as a ghost, (Sorry, Dana) because Tina immediately yelled out, “That’s Bette, isn’t it?” as if she could see it in Alice’s eyes.

“Well, answer it, Alice,” Helena said, as she reached out and touched Tina’s shoulder.   Alice reluctantly answered.

    “He…Hello?”

Bette: “Alice, Alice listen, I can’t talk long.  I need you to tell Tina that we’re fine.  We’re just going to hang low until Mama B, I mean, until I, can figure out the best thing to do…”

Alice: “What?  Wait, Bette, where are you?”

Bette: “Where I am is not important, Alice.  What is important is that you get the message to Tina and tell her that I’m not giving up until she changes her mind about the adoption.”

Just then, Bette’s call waiting alerted her to another call.

Bette:  “Oh shit, that’s her on the other line.  She’s been calling every other minute.”

Alice quickly looked at Tina who was starring back at her with a “That’s right, bitch,” kind of look on her face.  Tina mouthed, “Tell her to answer it,” and Alice said, “Huh?”

    1. This is so funny and the ghost of Dana. That would be interesting if that showed up in season 4. As long as Bette and Tina can make their way back together then I would be a happy camper.

    2. Alice is crazy,I think she left a code in Spanish. To pick up Shane fron the side of the road and Ran into Peggy and Maryian at the swinning pool So four adult abd Angie. Shane and Bette will take care of the baby. Tina is really pissed thanks
