    The next morning

Shane, Carmen and Alice were sitting at the corner of the Planet, sipping coffees and chatting about Shane’s and Carmen’s wedding that would be held three days later. Alice could see that Shane was all nervous about her wedding. She was happy for her friend. Then Bette and Tina joined them with Angie and Chris walking in hand in hand. The group laughed as they saw Angie and Chris. Tina even joked to have them engaged now and get them to marry when Chris reaches twenty five. She received a glare from Bette, but soon the table broke into laugher. Bette looked at Alice without the blonde noticing her. She could tell that the blonde didn’t sleep for the whole night. She was curious on what happened at the dinner yesterday night. She cleared her throat.

“Shane I think there’s some problem with my car. Can you please come out with me and take a look?”

Shane nodded. They both made their way towards the car with the other women continued their conversation.

When they were outside Bette put a hand on Shane’s shoulder and turned the lanky brunette around.

“Shane.” Bette looked at her questionably.

    Shane sighed.

“Dana went back to my place at 3am this morning. I was at the couch waiting for her. She tried to avoid me and walked straight to her bedroom.” Shane rubbed her temples before she continued.

“I went to her room and popped my head in and I saw her crying.”

    Flashback

Shane immediately ran to her friend and hugged her tightly. The former tennis player was sobbing heavily.

    “It’s ok Dana, it’s ok.”

    “It’s not ok.” Dana sniffed.

“She wants to be friends Shane, only friends. What the hell am I supposed to do? I thought I could but I can’t. I love her more than that and it fucking hurt me when she said it right in front of my face.”

“Dane, give her some time. Maybe….maybe she’s just as hurt as you.”

“I don’t know Shane. Maybe she’s right. Maybe it’s just better off this way.” Dana broke the hugged and slumped onto the bed.

Shane heart ached seeing her best friend hurt this much. She looked at Dana.

“Is this really what you want? Without her waking up by your side everyday?”

    1. uhhuh, this is killing me. Why do you keep bringing up Chris’ goofy grin? Was it just an coincidence that they had the same grin. Or there was more to the story. I can’t wait to find out Chris’ background. haha Angie and Chris getting engaged. lol. They were both adorable. I wonder why Bette did not like the idea.Hate to see D sobbing. Thanks again for having the gang there for support. The car and beach scene were terrific and a lot of fun. And throughout the chapter, there were many touching moments. Thank you very much uhhuh, Excellent job.

    2. Loved this chapter and I love this story. Those 2 are breaking my heart. At least Dana is making the effort to be just friends. This was very sad. I have to know though-what is going on with the whole Chris and Dana connection thing? What is Alice hiding? I have an idea of what might be going on but I’m not sure. Keep posting and I’ll keep reading.

    3. Great chapter, uhhuh!! Silly Danish… Their friends are certainly trying to help get them together. I love, love, love that Dana is not giving up. The beach visit was a great idea. It gave them both the buffer of having the kids there. They were able to relax and interact as friends. I like that Alice proposed staying in touch. They are making steps to get back together. I hope their re-connection does not get hurt by whatever Alice is hiding. Thanks!!

    4. i’ve been dying to read your next post and this is worth the wait…great update though sad…i specifically like how dana handled the situation maturely…no crying, no questions, no exchanging of words of whose fault is who, just making a memory of what might be their last time of being together in one place…excellent…please post soon…when are you gonna reveal chris’s father?
