Bette went back to her hotel room and debated with herself what she should do next. As much as she was sorry that things fell apart she was not sure she would have pursued Jodi to the other end of the country had Tina not goaded her into it.  Tina had accused her of running and being scared.  It became a matter of principle not to show weakness.  She had a reputation to uphold. 

            In one such moment of weakness she had turned to Tina and opened up in her pain.  Tina had listened and challenged her.  If it weren’t for that challenge she wouldn’t be on the east coast figuring out that she was not ready or willing to have anything more than a good time with Jodi. She was here for a good time not a long time.  She laughed to herself because she used to have a card with that written on it when she was in college.  It was funny how she had come full circle.

            Jodi was right Tina had happened to her again.  Bette knew that she would never truly be over Tina.  Tina was Tina, her morning star, the mate to her soul, and the mother of her child, her forever love.  The first time she was totally unprepared for her reaction to the hazel eyed blonde.  This time she knew that there was nothing she could do to stop her feelings she was just as helpless as the first time with none of the innocence.  Her heart belonged to Tina.

            Tina seemed really invested in her making it work with Jodi.  Why she wondered.  She was starting to feel played but to what end?  Tina had shocked her with a few of her admissions over the past several weeks.  Tina said she would choose Bette over the safe boring man she was seeing any day.  She told her that she loved her and missed her.  She was blown away when Tina had confessed that she sometimes wondered if she made a mistake.  If she didn’t know any better she would think that Tina was trying to push her to be with Jodi so that Tina would not have to deal with her own feelings for her.
