How Hard Can it Be – Part 4b

Carmen stood in front of the bar that mark had named when she had called. She had spent most of the day thinking about what Jenny said and as she had sat there and thought things to death she had started to get a little bit angry at Shane for what she had done. And when she had called and Mark had told her that they were all going out she had asked him where and had then reminded him that he owed her one when he had been hesitant to disclose their destination. So now Carmen prepared to enter the bar and let Shane know that she wasn’t going to get off that easy. Carmen spotted her two friends and Mark rate away and frowned when she saw an unfamiliar face leaning over and flirting with Shane.

The girl leaned in and whispered something into Shane’s ear and then Carmen’s frown started to fade as she saw Shane shake her head and put up her hand in a gesture of “No Thank you.” The frown returned when the girl didn’t get the message and leaned in again, this time taking a step closer to Shane. The frown deepened into a scowl as she stepped even closer and the gap that had been separating them disappeared completely. That was it for Carmen she stalked over to the group wearing the same scowl that had appeared on her face only moments before. “OK. Three things. One-get your hands off of my girlfriend.” Carmen waved her hand to shoo the girl away. And gave her an unimpressed glare when the girl stepped toward her threateningly. “Please.” Carmen said shortly. The girl backed off when she saw the bartender looking their way. “Two.” Carmen continued, ignoring the fact that the annoying girl still had not left. “You’re not getting off that easy.” Carmen pointed her finger at Shane.

“What are you talking about?” Shane asked, not yet over her surprise at seeing Carmen.

“You can’t just decide to end things for the both of us. It’s a load of bull ***** and you know it.” Shane sighed not wanting to continue the conversation in front of her friends.

“OK, hold on.” Shane held up her hands for Carmen to stop the conversation. “Lets’ go outside.” Shane looked toward Mark and Dana and turned toward the door when mark nodded that he would look after Dana while she was gone.
