How Many Times Do I Have To Say I’m Sorry ch.2

Tina walks to the bed and sits down. Bette slowly walks over to the chair. She warily looks at Tina, not sure of what to say.

Bette not really sure to start this conversation wrings her hands in frustration. She says quietly: So, how are you? Tina shoots her a look Right.

How long have you been here? Tina says her voice still shaking from the crying she did on her way over to the hotel.

Since I left. I know what youre thinking, but I Bette says as she looks at Tina as Tina stares at her intently. I didnt I mean no ones been Ive been here.

Tina ignores her attempt at an explanation Oh I see you still have your ring on.

Bette just realizing. Um yeah, I wasnt. I mean- I didnt know what to do with it. Never taken it off.

They sit for a moment, quiet not looking at one another.

After dropping her gaze Tina says, She misses you.

I miss her too. It feels strange without her around.

Past two days have been the hardest on her, she hasnt slept much. Tina continues.

Its gonna be hard to be without her. Shes my life, its gonna hard to move on. Begin again. Bette counters, her voice quaking with emotion.

Just like that? Tina states, her voice rising.

Not at first. All things, big things take time to put together. Its not like she couldnt do better. Bette says not really getting the literal topic at hand.

What?! Who are you talking about?

Same as you, right? Bette asks, confusion written on her face.

I was talking about Francis. Her irritation was clearly not in her voice, but on her face. She knew that Bette was referring to her, but she was not prepared to let her off the hook so quickly.

Oh, so was I. She says looking down. Bette knew that tone in Tinas voice. It was her I had enough bullshit voice. At that moment her feet became very interesting objects to study.

Were you? She questions, clearly not buying it.

No, I was talking about you. She responds innocently.

So, you know Ill do better than you? The edge not out of her voice.
