Libby are you sure youll be okay?

Yes, James said he would come by and call me every hour on the hour.

Id rather you stay with Al, or Shane can stay with you.

Bette, she said she would be fine, now come on, were late for our flight.

Fine, we have our cells.

Mom, youre late. Now go.

And they were on their way to New York. A certain little boy and an older lady were expecting a visit from the both.

On the flight as Tina read her book, Bette in her mind replayed the keys that Kit had taught her so far. Tapping her fingers along with the beat in her head as Tina would look at her from time to time.

I know once we get there they want to speak with you. Then hopefully we can get our license.

Babe, Im sure itll be okay. Now relax before you start to make me nervous.

And Peggy just wants a progress report, no biggie there, right?

Grabbing her hand and trying to steady her breathing, tell me you love me T.

Kissing the hand that covered hers, Elizabeth Porter I love who you are. Everything little thing that makes you, you right down to your streak of stubbornness.

An Office

Thank you Ms. Kennard. Now if you dont mind, I need to speak with Ms. Porter now.

Tina sat in the hallway, anxiously waiting for anything to happen. The door slowly opened as Bette was giving her thanks.

Getting up to know, she joined her side.

What did they say?

Picking up the paper in plain view of Tina, we got it, hes ours T.

Where is he?

Theyre getting him. Smiles coming from every part of her face.

Hugging Bette, Tina opened her eyes to a small boy holding a ladys hand coming towards them. Seeing his eyes, understanding how Bette fell in love with him, she knew they were doing the right thing.

When she let go, he saw Bette and immediately yelled for her.

B.B, but stopped when he saw her cane.

Jonathan, giving it to Tina, and scooping him up, Im okay sweetie.

Putting him down, it helps me walk when Im tired. Leaning back up and taking it her hand. Jonathan, I want you to meet Tina.

Grabbing his small hand and shaking it, Hi, Jonathan, Im Tina.

His little brown eyes lighting up, she is.

Grabbing his hand and Tina looping hers in the other, you ready.

With a few signatures and copies of papers, they were off.

Tina had thought that it would be better if her and Jonathan stayed while Bette went to go see Peggy. But the little boy didnt want to leave her side.

T its okay, Id rather you both come with me anyway.

The meetings were over with, the approvals given, and dinner was devoured. The next day was just for them

Back home

Libby. But no sound. Walking further into the house she realized she might be in her private bungalow outside. No lights, she turned and kept her search.

Libby, its me Alice. Nothing, she decided to leave, but first needed to use the restroom.

As she washed her hands and went to throw the paper towel in the trash, something in it caught her eye.

Stepping back, she noticed that a small stick was trying to hide itself amongst the rest of the trash.

Recognizing the same exact stick from when Tina found out she was pregnant, because she herself had bought the very box, in bulk.

Getting some tissue, she picked it up to see a very bold plus sign. When she picked that one up, she noticed another further down with the same exact sign. Seeing them scared her and she dropped it back in the trash as she made her way out the door. In her car and on her way to Danas thinking to herself,

Theyre pregnant again. Trying to be sneaky huh Porters, well see about that.


Libby was in the house checking her messages, when she remembered she needed to throw the trash before her parents got home.

Throwing it away, she went back to checking the messages.

Hey Libby, its Alice here, just thought I would call and check up. You know youre mother, she made me. Call me back.

Jonathan, you ready to go home, as he held on to his small blanket that never left his side.

On the plane he settled in between the two as his eyes grew heavy from excitement.

Tina sitting there rubbing her belly, looking over to where Bette was sitting looking out the window.

Looking down to their son and then at her wife, I didnt think I could ever be this happy again. And the keys took over in her mind again as the tapping resumed.

Once on the ground again, with a sleeping little boy in her arms and her wife at her side, they made it back to their home.

Kit and the girls are there barbquing. A little homecoming for my little man.

Libby were back! Girls, Kit.
Tina walked to the back yard with Bette and Jonathan right behind her.

Standing in front of everyone, May I present you with our son Jonathan.

Seeing Libby he ran to her as she knelt to receive him and fell when he came into contact with her.

Te quiero,as he fit his tiny hands around her neck.

Huh umm, as James came to stand next to them.

The rest of the introductions were made, and the eating continued, as the small boy this time stuck to Tinas side.

What do you mean Al. as all the eyes turned to her.

This time Bette a little irritated, You know what Al?

Fine, Ill play along, I wont say anything till you two do.

Alice, she tired to keep her voice down in front of her son, tell me right now, or else, was all she could get out that was nice enough for his ears.

What! And Bette was yelling at Alice, but turning around to give her full attention to Tina.

Tina, but she wanted to act as if she didnt know. She didnt want for Bette to find out this way, all she wanted was for it to be a surprise before all this with Jonathan happened.

I dont know what shes talking about Bette. I mean I wanted to surprise you a few weeks ago, but I never took a pregnancy test. She hoped her small lies would remain that way, small.

With her explanations being said no one noticed that Libby and James did their best to stand way back not in view of her parents.

Not wanting to lose it because she had no answers, Libby could you take Jonathan in side for a minute?

Sure, and sighing a relief as she could be out of this for a few seconds, Come on James.

Alice what the ***** are you trying to say?

Alice now trying to put the pieces together herself.

Alice, an answer now.

The other day you told me to come and check on Libby, I did. I had to use the restroom and theres where I saw it.

The positive stick in the trash.

Oh man, as Shane drank the rest of her beer, she didnt want to move because she wanted to know who was with child too.

Shaking her head no, then whose could it be?

It took Bette a few seconds to get in head what the rest already figured out.

They all stepped back as she paced back and forth next to the pool. Getting frustrated that the cane was getting in her way, she threw it across the yard. Now limping and running her hand through her curls, she then stopped. She stopped to face them then looked at them one by one, and then let it go.

James, I am going to kill him T, I mean it this time. Hes a good boy, thats what you told me Tina, now look hes making us grandparents. Catching her breath, shes in college T, she barely started. What are we supposed to do now?

Momma, hes down for a nap again. Noticing how all the eyes were on them now. Uh oh, is everything okay? Trying her best to sound casual.

Youre damn right uh oh.

Seeing the look in her daughters eyes, Tina had to save her and tell the truth.

Bette. Now that I think about it, I did take a test before we left.

Are you sure T?

Yeah I meant to tell you when the time was right, not like this.

Limping over to her and caressing her face, So were having a baby.

Leave it to Alice to ruin the moment, Yeah shes having a baby, she took two tests and Ill be damned if they both didnt say the same thing.

What, as she turned back to Alice with Bette now behind her.

II only took one test.

There was two in there.

Would I lie about something like this?

Tina could only save Libby once and this second time she couldnt do a thing, because she didnt know what was going on herself.

Two tests, Bette voiced as Libby tried to slide her way back into the kitchen. Hold it Libby, Bette looking tired as she was trying not to lose her temper at this point.

Seeing the defeat in her mothers eyes, she took the few steps that put her directly in front of her mother. Looking back at James who stood a few inches behind her, then looking down as if she wanted the ground to swallow her right there, but knew she couldnt hide.

Momma. I, we instead Bettes arms engulfed her into an embrace.

Pulling her so she could see in her face, are you sure?

Trying to look away to not upset her mother, yes.

Looking back to Tina, are you sure?

Walking up to join in the embrace, yes.

And off in the distance as they were giving hugs and containing tears, there in a secluded corner with Dana and Alice watching, Alice decided it was now or never.

With Dana still looking at them, Alice grabbed her hand, Dana would you marry me?
And she pulled out the ring.

Alice, I thought you didnt want to move in with me?

I do, but I just wanted it to be right. I wanted I mean I want us to be together.

So do I.

So is that a yes.

Yes.

Slipping the ring onto her finger with a gentle kiss to go with it. Looking back to their friends Alice said, Its not always going to be like this you know.

Laughing and looking into her fiances eyes, Yes it is, but thats what I love about this, about us, our family.

Yup, and shes all yours.

Joining the rest of the gang as they went to congratulate them walking hand in hand.

Shane spoke up, Uh I think congratulations are in order for Dane and Al. Right Al. As she had watched the whole thing from where she sat.

She picked up the bottle to say a quick cheers then back up to her lips.

Tina and Bette looked at them, then Tina took Danas left hand.

Oh Dane, Im so happy for you.

Alice and Dana, Im happy for you both I really am, but I think Ive had enough news for one day. Im going to join my son for a nap, so if youll excuse me.

It was quiet in the backyard and a little too uncomfortable for everyone.

I thought this was a party!

A get together Shane, not a party.
