Bette sits up, as she thinks she is hearing something. She goes into the house and hears someone banging and yelling at the front door. She opens the door to find Alice there.


Bette: What the *****? Alice!

Alice: Bette, I called you where the ***** have you been?

Bette: Well, not that it is any of your business Alice, but I had to go to the office and check on a few things. Then I came home, now I am waiting for Tina to get home. Why again do I have to explain my self to you?

Alice: Bette, its Tina. Tinas gone Bette.

Bette: What? What are you talking about? Tinas gone?

Alice: She left Bette. She left you. She left us. She came over after you fell asleep last night. This morning she gets up and makes me drive her to the airport. She would not tell me where she was going. Then this cop came and made me leave, and then I could not even tell you what airline she flew out of.

Bette: Alice, are you serious? Why would she leave? Tina, would leave, without even calling me? I mean *****, I know we had a fight and all but we made up. You know?

Alice: Are you sure you made up Bette. I mean I tried to get her to call you and she wouldnt, I even tried to get her to come here to pick up some of her things, but she said no. I promised her I wouldnt tell you. But I love you guys, you know.

Bette: Alice where did she go? What did she say? I mean *****, I know I fucked up but I thought we were going to work it out. I mean when you called earlier on my cell I just did not want to be bother. I just wanted to wait for Tina to come home so that we could deal with this. I went to the office to tell Candace it was over.

Alice: Bette, are you sure that you made up with her I am getting the feeling like you two are in two different places with this *****. I mean for Christ sake Bette what happen? I cant believe you did this to Tina. I mean you had to see her. You could see the hurt in her eyes.

Bette: Later for this *****, lets go to the airport.

Alice: I dont have the airline or the flight information Bette. Are you listening to me I do not know where she went or when she is going to come back. She doesnt want to be found. I mean, why, do you think you made up with her?. She was really angry with you. I left you a message on the machine to call me on my cell phone earlier. She told me she would call me. I mean I do not know what else to do I guess we are going to have to wait for her to call.
Bette: Maybe she left a message. Let me check the machine.

Bette goes to the answering machine and sees that she has two messages, she presses the play button. The first message is from Alice, she erases it. The second message is from:

Candace: Hello, Bette, hey this is Candace. I need to talk to you. I f you are there please pick up. I just want to talk.

Alice: Are you kidding me. Why, is that ***** calling you here Bette? I am saying what the *****. Here at your home, the home you share with Tina. Has everyone just lost there mind or what.

Bette: Shut up Alice. I told you I went to the office today to tell her I did not want to see her anymore and that it was a terrible mistake.

Alice: Oh my God Bette, What is going on? I mean, how could you do this to Tina? What happen?

Bette: Alice, look I do not need to get into this with you right now. Do you have any idea where she went? Please tell me. How could you let her go without an idea or any contact information.

Alice: Oh, not trying to make light of the situation, but you do realize this is all your doing and no one elses. Right Porter/

Bette: *****, *****. What did I do?

Alice: Yes, Bette what did you do?

Bette: I fucked up Alice, I mean Candace and I just happen. Tina and I have been having trouble, she lost the baby, and then my stress at work, she started doing her saving the world thing. I just felt so alone, we were not connecting. Then Candace kiss me and then one thing lead to another.

Alice looks at Bette in disbelief.

Alice: Listen to your self Bette, you do realize that you are a girl?, and that is how you were born right? So, why are you thinking like a man? So insensitive.

Bette: what are you saying?

Alice: Do you hear yourself? Do you just say the first thing that comes to your mind? If this is how you were with her last night, then I can see why you are in a different place then Tina. You have no idea what losing the baby did to her? Do you? No, idea how she must have felt after learning about you and Candace.

Bette: You are wrong, I know how she felt. For Christ sakes Alice we made love. We made love. Do, you think that I am just going to let her leave me?

Alice: Really then why did you do it? Tell me why did you cheat on her Bette? Why?

Bette: It just happen Alice. Candace means nothing to me. Last night Tina and I made love you know and Tina was the aggressor not me she fell into my arms, we held each other. Oh my god she really left me.

Alice: well, maybe it wasnt love, maybe she was just letting you know what you will be missing.

Bette: Oh, please dont hold back Alice. I have to get her back I need to find her I only love her.

Bette sits down and begins to cry. Alice moves to comfort Bette, never before seeing her in this kind of state. It will be OK porter let it out, let it out

Bette: will it? Will it be ok? I love her! I just love her!.

Bette is sobbing.
