The Tina hunt begins:


Bette calls the airlines and checks to see when the next flight out is for St. John the Virgin Island.
She can get on a 6:30pm flight so she books it. Then she calls the St. John Hilton to see if she can get a room, as luck has it they have a room for her.
Then she asks the hotel clerk what room is Tina Kennard in.
They do not want to give her that information as Ms. Kennard they inform her has requested no calls be put thru to her room.
So Bette explains to the clerk that she wants to arrange for flowers to be sent to Ms. Kennard room at a certain time tomorrow, they then help her with this arrangement.

Hotel Clerk: Ok, fine Ms. Porter what would you like the card to say.

Bette: its going to be a little long.

Hotel Clerk: That is not a problem

Bette: Ok, The card should say:
My first love, youre every breath that I take.
Not a moment goes by without me thinking of you.
I am so sorry for what I have done.
I know deep down inside you still love me as I still love you.
A love like what we share can never just go away.
I will wait for you forever.

Hotel clerk: (thinking to herself lesbians) ok will that be all?

Bette: Yes that will be all so I will be checking in this evening at 10pm, please have the flowers there by 11pm.

Hotel Clerk: ok, Ms Porter we will take care of it.


Bette hangs up the phone and prepares to pack for the airport after she is pack. She calls Alice.

Alice: Hey

Bette: Hey yourself

Alice: Do you want to go get some dinner later?

Bette: No, I took some time off from work.
I just want to get my head together.
I think I am going to visit my father so, can you come and check on the house and mail.

Alice: Ok, are you ok? I mean do you want to talk? If Tina should ask, what should I say?

Bette: Oh, I m sure you will think of something, ok got to run thanks.

Alice: Ok bye call me.

Bette calls a cab and heads to the airport.

Hours later her flight lands and she takes a taxi to the hotel, she checks in and inquires about the flowers that will be sent to Tina. The hotel clerk informs her that everything is as she previous arranged.
She is given the key to her room and she settles in.

Tina calls Alice:

Alice: Hello

Tina: Hi, its me.

Alice: Tina, Damn it! Stop it! Where are you?

Tina: Alice, I needed to get away so I could sort thru all this emotional stuff, I need to think about what I am going to do

Alice: how long is it going to take you to think, I mean *****, Bette is beside herself.

Tina: How is she?

Alice: crying, took time off from work, says she is going to visit Melvin.

Tina: Really, she took time off from work. Visiting Melvin.

Alice: I know, I was almost in shock too. Tina, you know she loves you; you can work this out cant you?

Tina: Alice dont, ok not now, not you.

Alice: Tina, just tell me where you are, how CAN I get a in touch with,you if there is an emergency.

Someone is knocking at the door;

Tina: oh, Alice I have to go, someone is at the door, and Ill call you tomorrow, bye.
