I Need A Hero: Bette and Tina Beginning Chapter 5

Chapter 5, Six Months Later; Tina’s POV

It’s now been a year since Bette’s death and I was still finding it hard to cope. I had turned to drink and started to become a liability. I knew that but I didn’t have the energy nor desire to turn my life back around.  The girls, surprisingly, haven’t left me to destroy myself yet.

Alice: We can’t let her go on like this, she’s killing herself

Tasha: We’ve tried everything Al; she doesn’t want help

Alice: I won’t let my friend kill herself

Shane: Tasha’s right we’ve tried everything; nothing’s helping

Jenny: She won’t let Bette go

    Shane: She probably never will

Alice:  She’s needs to; if she wants to have a life then she needs to let Bette go

I knew they’d be talking about me; it’s all they ever seem to do nowadays. They don’t understand that I’m only half alive, only partially complete. I could never let Bette go, I needed her memory to keep me going; if I didn’t have that then I’d be dead

“Why don’t all of you just mind your own business and let me live my life as I want to live it”

I had been drinking but not enough to get me drunk. There were times when I wish they’d just leave me in peace

    Shane: Because you’re killing yourself

    “I don’t care”

Alice: And you’re destroying your career

Tasha: You can’t go on like this Tina

I walk over to my computer and sit down. I open my inbox

    “I can and I will”
    Jenny: Let us help Tina

“For the last time I don’t need help”

Alice: It’s evident that you do

“Go to hell Alice, in fact all of you just go to hell I don’t need you”

I knew this was the drink talking but I needed them to understand that I wanted to come to terms with Bette’s death on my own and in my own way

    Shane: That’s the drink talking

“The hell it is, get the hell out all of you”
    Jenny: Tina…

    “No get out”

The girls left me to wallow in my self-pity and grieve. I knew was in the wrong pushing them away but I needed to be on my own, at least, until I got my head sorted out. What I didn’t know was that across town my worst enemy was trying to get one over on me

    1. It has to be Bette. Never for one minute did I think she died, I’m glad henry is a fool and thinks she did. He will not be expecting her and he will let his guard down. And as henry he has no strength against Bette as a superpower. Yay!!!!! Thanks for posting.
