Chapter 8, Tina’s POV

I couldn’t have felt safer. Bette was holding me in her arms. I was right she was alive.

Jodi: That’s not possible

Henry: No!

Bette: What’s up guys; you both look like you’ve seen a ghost

Bette lets me go and turns around. I put my hands on her waist. I needed to feel her

Henry: This isn’t possible

Bette: Anything’s possible Henry

I felt Jodi’s eyes bear into me. I could tell she was hiding something

Jodi: Thankfully you’re right Bette and what was the possibility of me discovering your weakness

I felt Bette tense up with fear. She had a weakness? I heard the collective gasp of those standing behind me

Jodi: I hope you’re willing to watch your love die again Tina

I heard shots being fired as Bette pushed me away from her. I fell to the floor.

Alice: Bette!

Then I heard someone slump to the floor. I looked and saw Bette clutching her stomach. A pool of blood had begun to form under her body. 

“No!”

 I suddenly remembered I still had my gun. I reached inside my jacket and took out my weapon and fired several rounds. I watched as both Jodi and Henry dropped to the floor. I had shot both of them clean in the head and stomach. I threw my gun to the floor and crawled over to Bette. I took her in my arms and fought back the tears. I couldn’t lose her again not after I just got her back

“Hey you”

Bette: Tina

“What kept you?

Bette: I’m sorry

“Stop saying you’re sorry Porter”

Bette: You need to take the bullet out Tina

“I can’t… I can’t”

Bette: Yes you can

“Bette I…”

Bette: Please Tina; I need you to take the bullet out

I was petrified. I couldn’t lose Bette again. I had to save her, I needed to save her

“Alice can you get me some tweezers, hot water, a dish and some towels”

Bette: Just the tweezers and dish Al

“Baby you’ll bleed to death”

Bette: You called me baby

“Bette…”

Bette: Trust me

“Alright, just the tweezers and dish”

Alice ran into the kitchen and came back with a dish and some tweezers. She passed them to me

“This is gonna hurt baby”

Bette: Just get that thing outta me

I nodded. I picked up the tweezers and gently put them inside the wound. Bette yelped in pain. It caused my heart to break; I hated seeing her in pain. I felt the tweezers hit something hard. The bullet.

“I’ve found the bullet, this is gonna be really pain babe I’m so sorry”

Bette: Do it

I managed to latch onto the bullet with the tweezers. I gulped hard as I slowly removed the bullet from Bette’s stomach. She was screaming in pain, it was destroying me. The others watched eagerly to see if I could remove the bullet. I finally removed the bullet and placed it in the dish

Bette: Get that thing away from me

I gave the dish to Shane, who disposed of the bullet by throwing it out the window. I watched as Bette’s stomach healed itself. She could heal herself. Oh wow!

“Baby”

Bette: You did it babe

She pulled my head towards her and she kissed me fiercely. I felt her arms snake around my neck and I tightened my grip. She felt so good; I had missed her so much

“I’ve missed you so much”

Bette: I missed you too, more than you’ll ever know

“I love you so much”

Bette: I know I love you too

We honed out into our little world. The girls just watched as we reunited, they had never seen such a love before nor had myself or Bette ever felt such a love like we had before. All I knew was I so glad to have my love back and that was I never going to let her go ever again.
