I Want to Come Over, Post 11

Bette took a deep breath.  She looked at the blonde who gave birth to their daughter the blonde that had taught her about love.  She was the first person to reach beyond her walls and defenses and refuse to leave.  In the years that they had been together it would amaze her that no matter how much she exploded or was sarcastic Tina would reach in and address the heart of the matter.  Tina supported her and loved her like no one had done before.

Tina’s quiet gentle strength held the Alpha Bette together.  When they first split Bette had been able to maintain herself on the surface.  Knowing that she had broken the trust between them she berated herself endlessly.  She never stopped fighting to get Tina back.  When Tina left her the second time she was devastated.  The second time it wasn’t anything concrete like an affair to blame.  This time Bette could only assume that Tina had finally figured out that she was not worthy of the love that they had shared.

While she did not believe that Henry or Josh were serious competition per se she just could not see how she could compete with Tina’s loss of interest and love in her.  Tina had changed.  The Tina who refused to leave was gone.  Tina left her.  The most important people in her life left her – her mother, father, sister and finally Tina.   No matter how successful she was she would never measure up and be worthy of the love that she dreamed of.  The love that she used to know with Tina was an aberration.  She looked into hazel eyes and did not trust the love that she imagined she saw there. She took the offensive.

“Why now Tina? We are in a good place with Angelica and even with each other.  I thought we agreed it was for the best that we work on being good parents and nothing more.”

“You decided that I merely accepted it.” Tina shot back the anger had not dissipated. “I don’t think I left you in any doubt that I love and want you, all of you.”

    1. Oh, my. I love “direct” Tina. Those last 3 sentences. That’s what Tina should have said to Bette in episode 11 not this altruistic BS “if you truly love someone, set them free” and they’ll return if it’s meant to be. LOL. Gag me. Make Bette choose. She was halfway there in that scene by the pool. Arrggh!

    2. I think Tina jumped the gun a bit with that last statement…I don’t see that Bette is ready to leave Rosanna yet, regardless of the 2 that are after her. I can only see Bette defending Rosanna from the attack of the ex’s….PPS

    3. oh no u shouldn’t have said that Tina. u can’t make them kinda ultimatums…..especially when B maybe falling for Ro. OH KELIKA WHAT R U DOING……DON’T DO THIS, DON’T PUSH THEM APART AGAIN…..NO ULTIMATUMS!!!! here comes the angst I knew would b comin. any chance of another post b4 the show tonight????

    4. Wow, my mind is in the gutter I swear I read “fuck me now,” when it was “choose me now.” LOL. I love it. The deciding moment. I hate that Tina is making Bette choose, but that’s women for you. LOL. So what will Bette decide? On one er…hand she has Rosanna *drool* (who isn’t leaving Bette for Kay at the admission). And here we have Tina *slurp* (who has a long steamy history with Bette…AND left her for a man)…Ro is still winning on the board, but if Tina plays her poker right, she could sweep the floor up. 8p Oh yeah…bring it on Kelika! oh and before you do that….May I pray for some Alpha Bette explosion a la “Why, why are you making me choose? Quit playing games with my heart! It’s not a fucking volleyball! You can’t just decide you want it back, even if it never really left you. Grr! Throw it away when it’s too hot to hold :grumble grumble:….” lol. anyway, PPS 8D!

    5. I like the idea of Tina being agressive but she does need to address her leaving Bette for a man before Bette answers the question. That is just my opinion, but it would help ease some of Bette’s fears.

    6. Oh no she didn’t! Wait, yes she did. That’s just all kinds of selfish on Tina’s part, but I guess she’s doing what she feels she gotta do to get her woman back. Bette maybe won’t like being backed into a corner and forced to choose though. Tina might not like the answer she gets. I’m almost scared to look! (But I certainly will be looking.) And what about Ro in all this? Well, not that Tina gives a two figs about Rosanna, but Bette does, and Tina needs to consider that. Bette, meet Rock, and his good friend, Hard Place. Thanks for the update, kelika. Post soon.

    7. I have always been here…just giving you a break with my silence, but not with the stars. No need to act upon my last comment! I did say “nah!” to the thought.:) Just trying to think of a sure fire way to get Bette back where she belongs. Bette can be so dense (proven in the last 2 episodes of S4)! Tina needs to spell her wants and needs out to the poor woman, but she needs to be a little careful with her demands. Hope this conversation goes well for her. pps.

    8. I don’t see this as an ultimatum, Tina is just being totally truthful about (Not that BS muddling around that IC is doing in the last couple of episodes). This is the raw Tina and how she feels at her core. Bette needs to do a similar evaulation. Well she prety much has and said that she is still in love with Tina. Hey, “It is what it is” and Tina is just stating what it is for her. PPS :o).

    9. Uh-oh, ball’s in your court, Bette. What a poignant figure Bette is; you’ve really nailed her abandonment issues. And tell-it-like-it-is Tina’s a refreshing change from the passive-aggressive incarnation on the show.
