    Chapter Twenty

    Tina Kennard narration

    I was sitting on a chair, overlooking the mess that was Shane’s house. Her party was at it’s height and people went crazy. I had danced and had fun, but I missed Bette. I really did.

    I saw Shane coming to me from the corner of my eye, holding two beers. She offered me one. I took it gladly and almost drank it ad fundum.

    “So, you see anyone you like?” Shane shouted over the music.

    I had seen some nice girls, but I had noticed they all looked like Bette a bit. I didn’t want that. For the hell of it, I didn’t even want someone.

    “Cause I think there’s someone here you’ll really like,” Shane continued when I didn’t answer. “Let me get her.”

    I sighed. I knew I needed to move on, she wasn’t coming back. Not soon anyway, and why would I wait for her all my life? Even if she came back I didn’t know if I would be able to forgive her.

    Some time later I saw Shane again, dragging a brunette along. When they came closer, I saw she had wonderful green eyes.

    “Tina, this is Helena,” Shane said. Helena. She looked a little bit tipsy.

    “Hi,” I smiled my sweetest smile. My smile when I wanted something from Bette. My smile I knew she couldn’t resist. Fuck Bette, Tina. Yes, that’d be good. No, just… the hell with her. Have fun.

    “Hello,” Helena answered with a cute British accent. She extended her hand and I raised my eyebrows, but I shaked it. Shaking hands seemed so formal.

    “So, you feel like dancing?” She asked me. Why not?

    “Sure.”

    At the end of the night, she had kissed me. I didn’t hesitate and kissed back with all the passion I had in me. The time had come to forget all about Bette and start all over again. With Helena. If she went away, no problem. I was not gonna allow myself to have feelings for her, for anyone for that matter. I wouldn’t get hurt twice. I went home with Helena, but I didn’t remember what happened afterwards. I had drunk quite some beers.

    My head was resting on Fiona’s lap. She was being very sweet lately and I was aware of what might come. She just… was different, ever since we got here. Not nice at all, just frustrated.

    2. okey, I know Bette is not that stupid not to realized what alias “jodie” is doing to her, she is abusing Bette’s judgement. Let Bette stand on her own and let her go back to Tina plss…Bette does not owe Jodie anything,…..Another great chapter!!! and please, Does Bette’s father not even concern about Bette’s whereabouts? I guess no matter how busy a parent is, they get crazy when their kids are missing…PPS…..

Well I am sorry but I don’t fell sorry for her, she deserve this, she brought it to herself, I mean when is she going to take responsibility for her actions, Tina deserve the best, bette might have a big heart and do anything for the people she loves, but she sure doesn’t know the difference of who deserves it.     5. Geez i’m so torn here. I don’t like seeing tina with Helena, but Bette doesn’t deserve her right now. Bette needs to grow up and get the hell out of Dodge, go back and fight for Tina. (Make it really hard for her too.)But then again I don’t know if thats a solution. Thats why I’m a reader and not a writer..

    9. Bette seems to be a very sick, insecure individual. What is her problem? How can she compare this life with Fiona to her life with Tina. Is she on drugs/ If not, Fiona will soon have her there. I’m getting quite frustrated with Bette’s stupidity. Can’t she figure that she’s being softened up by Fiona to go into prostitution. Fiona’s pimp is probably the love of her life and she doesn’t give a continental about anyone but him/her. Come on wake Bette up!!!! This is just plain out and out stupidity. Tina should find herself someone else. Grrrr why wait around for someone this stupid??!!!
