    Chapter 18

Shane and Jenny walked into the bedroom and sighed at the sight of Bette and Tina under the covers buried under a pile of used tissues. Tina’s nose was as red as Rudolph’s and Bette had deep bags under her eyes.

"Shit you look terrible," Shane said stepping closer with the tubberware full of soup Kit sent over.

Jenny moved to the other side, Tina’s side and said, "how did this happen?"

"We fucked in the rain," Tina answered bluntly.

Bette coughed, Shane laughed, and Jenny blushed so red her ears were about to pop off.

"Shit no wonder," Shane said with a playful smirk. If Tina had been well she would have smiled. But right now she was just tired. They had both been up late.

“What have you bought us?” Tina asked,

“Kit has sent you both some soup!” Shane said, grinning. More so at the fact that Jenny had gone so red.

“Great.” Bette said, taking another tissue.

“What the hell were you doing fucking in the rain?” Shane asked Tina as Jenny took the soup to heat it up.

“It seemed like a good idea at the time. Plus the British weather isn’t something that you can rely on. It’s like New York you can have four seasons in one day.”

“Pity you’ve both come back sick.” Shane laughed. Tina looked at her friend.

“It was worth it.” Tina laughed. “I’ve had a wonderful honeymoon. Seen an amazing city and loved my wife more than I thought I could” Bette looked at her.

                “I love you too Ti.”

“Good.” Tina smiled. Looking back at Shane.

“Marriage suits you two!” Shane said.

“I know!” Tina said before sneezing repeated. Her body shaking. Bette reached for another box of tissues and passed one to her wife. Tina took it and blew her nose.

                “Thanks babe.”

“Pleasure. Wow soup!” Bette said as Jenny bought the soup in for them both. Tina smiled as she took it with some bread.

“Right I’ll leave you guys to eat. We’ll check on you later.”

                “Okay. Thanks Shane.”

                “Please Tina, see ya Bette.”

“Bye!” Bette said before starting to eat. Once they had eaten they put the bowls onto the side. And Bette curled up into Tina. It wasn’t often they were ill, and she hated it. Tina put her arms around her wife. Smiling.

                “You okay?” Tina asked.

“My throat is sore. My nose is sore. My lips feel dry and I ‘ve barely slept. But I’m happy to lay here in your arms.

“I know baby I feel the same. Try and sleep now. Okay?”

“Yeh!” Bette closed her eyes, feeling very safe in Tina’s arms. Their bodies together as they both slowly went to sleep. Both of their bodies weak from the cold. Tina smiled.

                “Baby!”

“Mmm!” Bette said, drafting into sleep.

“I was so worth getting this cold for the fuck in the rain!” Bette laughed softly at Tina’s words.

“It was baby, it was!” Bette said before final sleep claimed her. Tina was awake a little longer but soon she was sleeping too. Both of them breathing through their mouths, curled together.
