If it makes you happy – Chapter 35

“Why don’t you just go over there?” Shane asked as she watched Tina look over her shoulder at Bette’s place for what felt like the fifteenth time in five minutes. The blonde had been distracted from the second Bette’s car had pulled into the drive next door.

“What?” Tina asked distractedly as she pulled her eyes away from the window through which she could see Bette’s kitchen illuminated. “Sorry” She offered as a blush creeped up her neck and flushed her cheeks.

“Tina, don’t be sorry.” Shane responded before taking a deep breath, “Just go over there and talk to her.”

“But I came here to see you.” Tina said weakly.

“And I’ll still be here tomorrow when you and Bette have talked this thing through.” Shane reasoned.

“What if she doesn’t want me there?” Tina wondered aloud.

“She’s left you three voicemails in the last two hours.” Shane pointed out before taking another mouthful of her beer, “I think it’ll be fine if you show up.”

“Looks like I’m out of excuses.” Tina replied quietly as her forehead creased slightly.

“Don’t stress it, just go over there and listen to what she has to say.” Shane offered as she turned the beer bottle on the wooden kitchen table.

Tina smiled slightly at her friend before standing and pulling her jacket from the back of the chair. “You’d better have plenty of those chilled.” Tina said as she nodded at the beer bottle, “If this doesn’t go well I’ll be back over.”

“We’re well stocked but I doubt you’ll be back over here tonight.” Shane responded before draining the last of her beer from the bottle.

“What makes you so sure?” Tina asked.

“Let’s just say I’ve been paying attention to all the things you two don’t say.” Shane replied with a knowing smile, “Now go see what she wants.”

“I’ll see you later.” Tina answered as she slung her suede jacket over her arm and headed for the front door.

Tina knocked on the door to the home they used to share, no matter how much time had passed, she couldn’t get used to being a guest in her former home. She didn’t have to wait long before it swung open. Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at Bette, not wanting to wait any longer she asked “Did you find your answers?”

    1. I just went back and read all the chapters to this story. It is so exceptionally well crafted, and so dead on with its insights into the characters. What a journey this has been. I can’t wait to see where they go from here. You are such a talented writer. IC would have done well to hire you.

    2. Thank you for writing another chapter. The emotions are so raw they jump off the page. I can really feel the love between these two people. They deserve another chance to be happy. After all they have gone through to get to this point of realization. I hope you won’t go away too long. Another amazing chapter! I have been hoping you would come back and let us enjoy another addition to this wonderful story. You have. So thanks!

    3. This conversation between Bette and Tina is just absolute crap. Bette is still not being completely honest with Tina. This one time that I do not want Tina and Bette to end up together, normally no matter what has happen with my Tibette, I always wanted them to be together in the end, but this Bette is unrepenting and she is right she does not deserve Tina.
