“You’re fucking kidding me!” Alice exclaimed over the din of The Planet’s breakfast rush. The table beside them looked across pointedly. “Sorry, sorry. Won’t happen again.” Alice said as she held up her hands in mock surrender.
“Fact is stranger than fiction.” Bette replied as she placed her sunglasses in her purse and settled into her seat at the table for two.
“Saskatchewan” Alice said thoughtfully before adding, “Isn’t that the place where, if your dog ran away three days ago you can still see it?”
“What?” Bette asked bewildered by the unexpected question.
“It’s flat, right? So you can still see your dog that left three days ago. Get it?” Alice said as she smiled proudly at her joke. Bette looked largely unimpressed, so the blonde shrugged her shoulders and took a bite of her bagel.
Bette had hoped for a little more insight from her friend and mentally chided herself for doing so.
“So TK’s moving back into Casa del Porter.” Alice said finally “Gotta tell you Bette, never thought I’d see the day.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence.” Bette replied flatly.
“I seriously thought she was lost to the world of breeders for the rest of time.” Alice continued lightly. “You never cease to amaze me.”
“I just offered Tina the guest room until she finds a place of her own. This isn’t a permanent arrangement.” Bette clarified, the last thing she needed was Alice shouting from the rooftops that she and Tina were back together.
“But she’ll be around again. The two of you showing up here together for morning coffee.” Alice said excitedly as she gestured around The Planet, “You gotta admit it’s going to be like old times.”
“It’s only for a couple of weeks, Alice. Don’t go getting attached.” Bette warned before picking up the menu in front of her and pretending to read in an effort to shift the topic of conversation.
Alice sat quietly as she chewed on her breakfast and mulled over the possibilities. “What if it was more than a couple of weeks. What if Tina likes being back in her old home with her old friends and her old wife?” Alice grinned.

Is it just me or did anyone else think Alice went way over the line with her persistence? I was mentally telling her to shut the F up. Why must Bette be the one to “fight for her wife back”? Jeez, I swear.

Bette made some good points. Tina didn’t ask to come back for her, she needs a roof over her head…and Bette provided that, she shouldn’t give up on her relationship wth Abbey cause Tina’s there. If it’s meant to be they’ll find a way. I am wondering how Abbey will feel about this though. I love this keep posting.

Oh I think Abbey is going to be pissed when Bette tells her that Tina and Angelica are moving back into the house for a few weeks. I don’t want to see Tina begging Bette to take her back, I really don’t, what I would love to see is Bette and Tina falling in love again, hook, line and sinker maybe wishes can come true in fan fic land. Nice to see you posting again Hackgirl and Thank you.
I’m happy that Bette hasn’t turned her back on Tina and I love the way you’ve written the conversation with Alice – even the pauses were meaningful. Look forward to your next update – and I dare to hope!
Glad you’re back posting. You write really well. I like this story. The dialogue is outstanding and hopefully B & T can work things out. They were good for each oter. They just forgot how to make each other happy and wanted.

Why must Bette take Tina back as soon as she begs while Tina wasn’t even that moved when Bette’s on her knees? Tina should work really bad to win Bette back. That’s the plan. =D

bette is so stubborn and i see her point, but i hope they will work things out and find their way back to each other…if i were bette and still love tina, i wouldn’t make her work hard for forgiveness because love should be easy, especially for those two but i also love my Tibette and can’t wait forever to see them together…thanks

yep, read all the chapters, good story, the dog running away for 3 days…and still can be seen to me is like B and T’s running away from each other allover 3 seasons but ‘their love, their meant-to-be- ness is there for all to see; so i hope in your story they work thru their stuff and move on 2gether altho your Abby seems like a nice person; maybe she can hook up with Helena and they can all be friends; and no i don’t want T begging just a slow realisation and some nice insights from B and T will do, maybe some dating? certainly not too much angst, i am so tired of angst…anywayz will be looking for the next instalment…excellent dialogue etc.
HackGirl, I’m begging you to make Tina beg Bette to take her back. Memo to self: get over your residual anger towards Toxic Tina before S4 begins…you’ll need a reserve of anger for Ilene.

Hey HG, Good to have anothe fabulous post from your good self. Happy dancing as I read it. Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! SO onto this tortured tale. Your conversation was brilliant as Alice desperately want Bette to fight for Tina while Bette is still in the once bitten, twice shy mode. Yes, these two belong together but right now they need to get to know one another again. Maybe this will be the impedus to realize what they have missed and give them an opportunity to rebuild their relationship on a stronger foundation. Loved Bette’s put down, *”She wants to be with a man, Alice.” Bette said resignedly “How exactly do you suggest I fight that?”* Perfect. You have such a talent with words and storytelling.
