‘So what’s going on?’ Lucy asked and still smiled.

‘Well… I don’t know’ Helena said and didn’t dare to look Lucy in the eye.

‘What do you mean you don’t know? You must know, have you talked?’ Lucy asked.

‘Yeah we did talk’ Helena answered.

‘And… what did you say?’ Lucy asked.

‘Well it turned out we both didn’t regret it happened ….’

‘And you had sex with her’ Lucy finished her sentence

‘Lucy! Of course we didn’t, god where do you take me for a woman eater as well?’ Helena said but didn’t dare to look Lucy in the eye she knew that if she would she’d  blush and Lucy would know she was lying.

‘Look at me’ Lucy said but Helena didn’t move.

‘Look at me’ Lucy said again and turned Helena’s head and looked her deep in the eyes.

‘You’re lying’ Lucy said and smiled

‘No I’m not’ Helena tried to defend

‘Yes you are I can see it in your eyes and you’re blushing, o my god my best friend is so gay’ Lucy said and was overjoyed with the news.

‘Lucy! Don’t say that’ Helena said and she got angry.

‘Why what’s wrong with that?’ Lucy asked.

‘Because… I don’t want to be okay?’ Helena said and stared at the floor.

‘Hey, hey Helena come here’ Lucy said and moved close to Helena ‘look at me’

Lucy turned Helena’s head to face her. ‘You’re beautiful, okay? Never hide who you are there’s nothing wrong with being gay alright?’ Lucy said and saw tears well up in Helena’s eyes.

‘Don’t you understand Luc, what would mother think? I’m suppose to follow in her footsteps and she wouldn’t possibly accept a gay daughter as her inheritor’ Helena said and tried her best no to cry out loud.

‘Hey, your mother loves you despite the way you feel about her. She’ll always be your mother and you’ll always be her daughter and she wouldn’t love you less. I mean she’s American she’s used to that kind of thing’ Lucy tried to comfort her. ‘and besides, when did you ever care about what your mother thought’ Lucy smiled
