    In Repair – Chapter 25

Pulling up at a liquor store nearby, Bette unfastened her seat beat, “ I’ll be back in 5 minutes, I just need to grab some stuff, okay. “

Helena nodded quietly before turning her attention back to the cars passing by on the outside.

Within a couple of minutes or so, Bette returned from the store with a carton of beer. She placed them at the back of the car before returning to the driver’s seat.

“ I hope you don’t mind going for a drink somewhere else. “ Bette glanced at Helena while driving.

“ No, not at all. “ Helena mumbled.

Bette wanted to bring Helena to a comfortable and quiet place where they could talk without any disruptions. All Bette wanted was to be there for Helena, to lend a shoulder if Helena needed one to cry on.

Upon arriving at their destination, the beach, Bette brought out a mat, a warm blanket and the beer that she had just purchased. She laid the mat on the soft sand and invited Helena to sit down next to her. She handed Helena a bottle of beer, once they had settled down.

Taking the bottle of beer, Helena smiled, appreciating what Bette was doing for her, “ Thank you. “

“ You’re welcome. “ She smiled, wrapping the blanket around Helena and herself.

They sat quietly next to each other while Helena closed her eyes as she listened to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, breathing in the smell of the ocean.

On the other hand, Bette shifted herself in a position where she could study Helena’s features. As usual, she looked gorgeous with her hair hung around her shoulders making her look incredibly elegant.

Looking at the tiny frown that was formed on her face, Bette could tell that something was obviously bothering Helena.

Bette then asked in a gentle tone, “ Helena, are you okay? “

Her eyes fluttered open as she paused for a moment before answering, “ Not, not really, “

“ Do you want to talk about it? “

Helena responded with her eyebrows furrowing, “ Ashlee. “

    1. oooooo, that was great! lol@squirl’s book of elaborate oldest tricks. this was a great chapter, enjoyed thoroughly. and i love that bette was being such a dawg/mac, whatever…it looks good on her. hehehe, i know thats awful of me! but i don’t care! great risque, just great:)

    2. Oh they are so busted. I can’t believe Helena fell for the oldest trick in the book. The, let me drive by the liquor store, get some beer, go sit on the romantic beach with one blanket, cuddling, so you can tell me all your problems with your girlfriend trick. I read that and I thought, Helena gone, yup she walked right into it. Then you’ve got Ashlee falling for the second oldest trick in the book. The, I need you to carry my bags and help me check into my hotel room, while I ask you about your new GF and tell you how I still love you trick. I thought oh yea, she’s gone too. But risky, I hope you don’t mind me calling you risky, ’cause you sure are being risky right now. Yup Risky Helena’s got some ‘splaining to do!!….Nice update BTW, (Nice move Porter, that’s the trick I would have used)
