Chapter 11

Bette has just been wheeled into recovery after the operation, shes still sleeping.
Tina and the gang is waiting anxious out in the waiting room. Tina is pacing the floor, from one side to the other.
How long have they been in there? Tina asks and looks at Alice.
Three hours, but Tina, sit down for just one moment please. The doctor will come out as soon as they are finished. Alice says and looks at Tina with a pleading look. And with that said, Dr. Wilson enters the room. She is smiling. Tina rush towards her.
So, how is she, howd it go? Tina asks curiously.
Well, it did go very well actually. We were able to remove the tumor without removing anything else. What we saw, was that it had started to spread up into her hip. But it looks like we got it all. Shes in the recovery now, they will bring her back to her room in a couple of hours. Dr. Wilson says. Tina just stands there, dont quite believing what she has just heard. After a few moments of thinking she speaks. So you got it all? She smiles as tears are running down her cheek. Yes, it seems like we did. We will put her on chemo for two weeks, just to make sure. Dr. Wilson says. Thank you. Tina says as she gives Dr. Wilson a big hug. Kit walks up to Tina and gives her a hug too. They both cry. So does the rest of the gang. Shell be okay! Tina cries to Kit.

Two hours has passed and Bette is being brought down from recovery. Tina and the gang are notified. They walk in to the room, quietly. Bette seems to be asleep. But as soon as she hears them, she opens her eyes. Tina walks up to her and kiss her on the forehead. Hi Bette says. Hi Tina replies.
So how are you feeling? Shane asks. Fine, except my mouth is a bit dry. Bette answers. Dana walks over to the sink and fills up a glass of water, and gives it to Tina, who holds Bettes head so she could take a sip.
Look, were gonna go, well come by later. Alice says as she looks at Shane and Dana. Kit also agrees. Tina gives them all a hug. Thanks again for being here. She says to them. They leave.
Bette and Tina are left alone.
Have they told you anything after the surgery? Tina asks.
No, I have been asleep you know. Bette replies with a slight smile on her face. Tina also smiles. Do you know anything? Bette asks, as she can sense that there is something Tina hasnt told her yet.
Yea, they told me something. They got it all. Tina says and smiles and tears of joy fall down her cheek. Are you serious? They got it all? Bette cant believe it. Yes baby, Im serious, they got it all. Youre going to be fine. Bettes eyes also are filling up.
I love you so much. Tina says and takes Bettes hand and kisses it.
I love you too, more than anything. Bette replies, and continues Tina, I dont know if this is the right time to bring this up, but Ill go for it anyway. Tina is surprised. What baby? Bette clears her throat. I want us to try and have a baby again. She says. Tina is silence for a moment, and then she smiles. I would like that very much. She replies.
Bette lets out a sigh of relief and joy.
