Chapter 35

The nurse exits a few minutes later and leads the way to the room that will be Tinas in an hour. They all take a seat on the bed, except Bette she cant bring herself to sit down. 10 minutes alter the nurse enter with the new addition, a beautiful baby girl. To Bettes surprise, she was awake. The nurse smiles and then leaves again.

Bette carefully picks her up, tears are forming, she tries to wipe them away, but only more keeps falling.

Oh my God, youre so beautiful. Bette whispers as the baby takes a hold on Bettes index finger. The girls move in close to have a look at their new family member. Tears are dripping from everyone. Bette takes a seat, still holding on to her precious. They all sit in silence as they all watches the little one. Suddenly a nurse enters.

Ms. Porter, were ready to bring Ms. Kennard down now. The nurse says and leaves again.

Hey, guys, do you think you could leave? I dont mean to kick you out, but I really like to be alone with Tina as she meets her daughter. Bette asks looking around at everyone.

Sure, baby sis. Well come back tomorrow, with gifts and everything. Kit says and smiles. She stands up and leans down and gives Bette a hug.

So does everyone, and then they leaves. A few minutes alter the door opens and in come Tina. Shes awake, but still a little groggy after the operation. Bette is still seated with Angelica in her arms. She waits for the nurses to hook everything up. Didnt want to get in the way. As soon as the nurses made their way out, Bette stood up and walked slowly over to the bedside, smiling down at Tina, still with tears in her eyes.

Tina is looking pleading with Bette to hand the baby over. Bette slowly and gently put Angelica down in Tinas arms.

Shes finally here, I cant believe this. Tina says and starts to cry.

Bette leans in and kisses Tina on her cheek.

I love you T. Bette says and starts sobbing. She stands up again and put her hand over her mouth. Tina notice this and look concerned.
