Chapter 42

Bette have been down to the center and talked to Oscar about what has come up. He gave her the week whole week off. She parks the car outside the house. She sits in the car for a moment. She saw the rental car parked out on the side of the street, so she new that Emily, Sean and the kids were here. Inside Tina had notice that Bette had arrived, so she walks to the window and sees Bette sitting in her car with her head bowed down.

Hey, Emily, could you watch Angelica for a second? Tina asks.

Yes, sure. Emily replies and smiles at Tina. Tina walks outside to the car, Bette doesnt notice her until she opens the passenger door and gets in.

Hey, why are you sitting out here? Tina asks and takes Bettes hand.

I dont know, just thinking I guess. Bette replies.

About what? The surgery tomorrow? Tina asks.

Yes, that too. Bette replies.

That too? What else? Babe, you know you can talk to me, we promised not to keep any secrets. Tina says in a calm comforting voice.

Bettes eyes are getting teary.

Baby, whats going on? Tina asks, now really worried.

Im scared, thats all, and I fear that it will not be the end of it, that they will find something more. Ive also had these dreams the past few nights that I will leave you and Angelica. That I will die, and I dont get to say goodbye. Bette is now crying hard.

Baby, come here. You are not going to leave us. Well have at least 50 years to go. Tina says giving her a little smile and pulling her into a hug.

Im scared too Bette, but I know you will be fine. You are not leaving us, you are staying right here with me and our angel. And hopefully a new little angel will come one day. Tina says. This got Bettes attention.

Are you saying that you want another baby? Bette asks a little surprised.

Yes, baby, I am. I would love for Angelica to have a little brother or sister. Tina says and smiles.
