In Transition 9
So what did you wish for? MJ was ever so curious.
Shane smiled mischievously, Dude, you know you will not get anything from me. She checked the time and remembered, Hey arent we supposed to be meeting Lindsay at this new club?
Yeah, youre right. Shes going to kill us.
We had better hurried then. Shane and MJ took of running.
Shane leaned her forehead against the brick wall, out of breath. When she glanced over she noticed that MJ was the same. Were only an hour late. Hopefully she will go easy on us seeing how out of breath we are.
MJs look said that she doubts it. Shane was too but one can always hope.
Where have you guys been? We were supposed to meet an hour ago. You know how I hate waiting.
Sorry man, its all my fault. I took MJ out to dinner and we just lost track. Hey how about I buy you a drink to make up.
MJ sneaked a peak at Lindsay and saw the hurt that she was trying to hide. She could have kicked herself for not realizing. Oh God Lynn, its not what you think. We only had dinner to celebrate Shanes new job. Its just between friends. You know I dont see Shane in that way.
The clinking of bottles as they were set on the table effectively ended the conversation. Hey guys, here are the drinks.
MJ looked away embarrassedly. I hope she did not hear that.
Lindsay, now back to her cheery self, dived into the drinks enthusiastically. Hey how did you get the alkie?
They dont care here. Whatever goes I guess. Shane looked around the room purposely not looking at MJ. As she scanned the room, a tingling of recognition caused her to stop short and turned her gaze back to the lone figure at the bar. It couldnt be could it? Absently to the girls, I see someone that I recognize. I will catch you guys later.
MJ and Lindsay just watched as Shane made contact. The dim light made it hard to follow what was happening but the girl seemed to be intently listening to what Shane was saying. All I want to say is how? And is it even possible that she got even hotter with that new cut.
Lindsay turned her back to that scene. So first of, I just want to tell you that Im okay with Shane. I know that it was just a thing. It irked me at times but Im cool with it, and I think that back there is for YOUR benefit.
MJ looked over Lindsays shoulder and saw Shane and whoever were getting closer. She saw how the girl was whispering something into Shanes ear and wanted to go over there and give her a smack. I have no idea what youre talking about.
Right, like I havent noticed that you guys have been hanging out a whole lot. And dont excuse it with working either. Im talking outside of work, weekends and the whole nine.
MJ wasnt really listening, Lets finish these drinks and hit the floor. I feel like letting loose.
Lindsay watched as she downed the beer quickly and proceeded to finish Shanes also. Sounds and look more like jealousy to me. Helpless she let MJ dragged her out onto the floor.
Two heart pumping songs later, MJ yelled to Lindsay, I need another drink.
Before Lindsay could stop her, MJ disappeared into the crowd.
She waited impatiently for the bartender to look her way. MJ swigged her tequila shot quickly when she got it. Her head swam nicely as she grab the bartender again, A Long Island. MJ dug into her pocket for the money but a voice stopped her.
Dont worry this one is on me.
