    Chapter 8

    ***Tina***

    Bette spent the night at my place and every night her husband was in town. The nights he was away she stayed at home. I gave her the bed and I took the sofa. Before we met she made a bid for a piece of property in New York. She wanted to expand the gallery and her dream was becoming a reality when she won the bid. She left for New York later that week for two weeks. I used that time to work on Jeff. I visited him at home one day. Wendy was there so I waited for her to leave before confronting him. I knocked on the door and he opened it with a smile, obviously expecting someone else.

    “Hey Jeff.”

    “What do you want?”

    “I’m here to make a deal with you.”

    “Get out of my house before I call the police.”

    “I think you should hear what I have to say before you do that.”

    “You don’t know who you’re dealing with?”

    I gave him an envelope. He was looking through the contents, “In case you didn’t recognise the guy, that’s you. And the woman you’re swapping spit with isn’t your wife. In fact I think I just saw her leave.” He looked at me with angry hateful eyes. I wasn’t afraid of him. “See those photos, along with these, “I showed him the x-rays, scan results and photos from the hospital. “Are enough for Bette to file for a divorce. And you know she is going to get half of everything you’re worth.”

    “You bitch.” He grabbed my collar. “I could kill you right now.”

    “You’re wrong Jeff, I know who I am dealing with, but you don’t know how you’re dealing with.” I pulled myself from his grasp. “Thing is, Bette has friends now. She’s not alone anymore and you’re done taking advantage of her.”

    “You’re making a big mistake.”

    “The only mistake I’m making is not letting everyone see the lowlife you really are.” I turned to let myself out. “You can keep those I made copies.” I got into my car and dialled Alice, “We have to talk.”

    “What about?”

    “Jeff Johnson.”

    “Ok, well I don’t think we should do this at my office so I’ll meet you at your place.”

    1. Great chapter and loved how you had Tina stop Bette from continuing their kiss into something more, for the mere fact that Jeff won’t use that against BEtte.

    2. Great update. Tina’s right, one thing at a time. First get rid of Jeff, then they can move forward. Heck by then they’ll be so much sexual tension I don’t know if will be able to read it.

    3. I agree with Tina when she stopped the kiss from Bette. They need to get Jeff out of the picture completely first. Especially since he’s so violent with Bette. PPS

    7. great update and i feel for them, not being able to show their love. It is for the best at the moment. They don’t want Jeff to suspect anything because he would be vicious. Love the story. PPS

    10. BnT4vr, Still loving this take of the lives and love of Bette and Tina. Amazing to have Tina as the alpha in this pairing. It is adorable how thoughful and caring she is. The room for perfect and just said so much about their feelings for each other. Yes, Bette wants to feel the touch and love of Tina but she needs to get Jeff out of her life first. He could cause a lot of problems for them if they take their relationship to a physical plane right now. The anticipation is building slowly and tinglingly teasing. I completely agree with Coop, and hopefully, Tina having self-control and consciousness of the stakes, and Bette not beeing the self-assured huntress we know elsewhere, maybe it will work…… maybe ;-) — the best thing would have to let Jeff be killed in a planecrash or some natural disaster, but we couldn’t be so lucky, could we ??? LOL
