IS THIS LOVE
CHAPTER 80
Helena knocked at the door of Emma’s apartment. She had been out for a run in the Park and was looking forward to the prospect of seeing her lover. Helena had really needed the run – she had things on her mind – the main thing being the 5ft 6in frame of Emma Kennard. She had not been expecting to still be with her after nearly 3 weeks – but she was and she was enjoying herself more than she could explain.
There had been so many surprises – the sheer orgasmic heights of their sex life -Emma knew tricks that had even shaken the Lady Killer Helena to the core (literally )
Emma loved the high life – they dined nearly every night in luxury restaurants – the night of the picnic Emma had taken Helena to dinner and casually ordered a $1500 bottle of wine. Helena didn’t think her own mother would have done that and Peggy’s largesse was legend.
Third – and more importantly – Helena just GOT ON with Emma – they talked about anything and everything – politics, philosophy, books and movies – there were very few subjects that Emma did not have an opinion on.
The door opened and Emma was standing wearing a white robe
“I have been swimming “ she said proudly
“Your building has a pool ?”
“Yes – and a gym – come on in “
Helena did – she went through to the sitting room with Emma who went into the kitchen. She returned with two ice cold bottles of water and handed one to Helena.
“Thanks – so how far did you do ?”
“The pool is half Olympic size – so 20 lengths of 25 metres – not bad “
“Impressive – you do know that Bette does 50 lengths twice a week ?”
“Bette would “ Emma said dryly “it’s the first time I have been for a swim in a few months”
“Do you feel okay ?”
“I feel fine – no accounting for how I feel tomorrow “
“I will get some massage oils and take care of you “
“I like the idea of that “
“So do I “
“How was the run ?”
“Okay – I enjoyed it once I am out. I am not as dedicated as Bette – when we started running at University she had to throw water over me to get me up”
“Do you like cycling ?”
“Yes – years since I did any cycling on a proper bike “
“We could try going for a ride together. I am not a runner – Tina is and Kate was. I think you in a swim suit would really be a distraction for me”
Helena pulled a face which Emma misinterpreted
“Sorry – I guess you don’t want anyone to see us together – or you could tell people its your work with aged “
“WHAT ! “
Emma moved to get up but Helena took her hand and pulled her back
“Hey – where the hell did that come from ?”
“It was a joke”
“A bad one – what’s up Emma ?”
“Nothing “
“Emma “
Emma sighed “Are we crazy ?”
“Yes – what is your point ?”
“I am really enjoying being with you Helena “
“I am enjoying being with you “
“Are you about to say BUT “
“No – I didn’t expect this to last – its fantastic and I am having a ball”
“Are you worried about the others ? I think Bette is coming around – having dinner with them is real progress “ Helena said

I didn’t anticipate that Helena and Emma would fall in love, I mean they were just having fun right. I can’t wait to read how Peggy will feel about this. Pls keep writing
Seems that my comment disappeared again! The dinner together was a succes and Bette came up with Idea for the Burgers for dinner. I love your Bette! I love all your stories. Something so right ( reading it now again) The L Wing, wich i hope you will finish and New York Minute are my number ones. But i am addicted to all your stories. Happy Easter! Stay save and healthy ????
New York Minute was my favorite as well as Something So Right. There was one where Bette and Tina were neighbors and Bette had lost her wife but Tina was married to a man who divorced her for another man or something. I enjoyed that story too but cant remember if it was finished or not. You are a great writer Ally, any of your stories are perfect for reading and re-reading.
BK -the brady bunch mets l word – all you need is love
I love that Emma and Helena are falling in love. I have known several couples who had large age differences. One couple who comes to mind were both educators. There was about 15 years difference between the two. They have been a couple for twenty-five or thirty years. Unfortunately, the younger one died suddenly at the age of 68 years old leaving her older partner alone about 5 years ago. They were a couple long before marriage equality became the law. They were the core couple in the gay and lesbian community much like Bette and Tina in TLW. The fact is that most of us are attracted to people who are much like ourselves. And in some cases, age is simply not a factor between the two who are involved. It is far more a factor to others looking from the outside. Outsiders sometimes project their own prejudice or insecurities on others, rather than taking a breath and just accepting people the right and space to live their lives as they see fit. Tina’s initial analysis was correct. These two are adults who were not in any committed relationship and therefore entitled to pursue the relationship they mutually consent to. As long as they treated each other with respect and were honest in their dealings, who has the right to object? These two will be accepted as not unusual when they both present themselves as being committed to each other. Once that happens, the age difference will fade away. Of course they need to be seen together in social situations to be accepted, otherwise people will presume that they are hiding and are ashamed of some aspect of their relationship; possibly their age difference? But I do not see Emma and Helena hiding for much longer. I see this as a seriously developing relationship. I believe Emma will be Peggy’s daughter-in-law and Helena will be Tina’s new step-mom! Let’s see what that feels like when the realization hits them.
I like this story. Emma is turned from a not so nice mother who is beyond hope to a giggling teenager in love. Its been a wonderful transition. I am really liking Emma with Helena. I am liking Helena better as well.
Thank you for this story….. I like New York Minute and L-Wing, just wish those stories were finished. They are both very long books (hundreds of chapters) and feels strange to just be left hanging without a ending. They both have great story lines and great characters. It amazes me that you can write so many stories about Tina and Bette and yet in each one, their personalities have unique features not found in your other stories. That shows a real talent. Thank you for all you do.
A great Chapter as always and as I always expect from you. You never fail to deliver either.
I regularly re-read your stories and enjoy just as much and also pick up little things I’ve not noticed before.
Love The L Wing and would love you to finish it if only with an Epilogue. Also New York Minute requires completing. Can’t choose a single favourite just love them all.
Thanks Ally
