“Well T I’m going to make breakfast, feed my family, and send you to your studio to finish your panting. Then I’m going to start to pack the kids bags. See if they got enough stuff to take to France, if they need anything, we can go and buy that this afternoon.”

“I think they got enough stuff, but thanks that will be a big help. Yes I need to finish that painting. Ok so let’s get up and start our day. Do you want to share a shower with me?”

“Baby I would love to, but you know what is going to happen when we share a shower…… I will start with the breakfast. Give me a kiss.”

“Ahhhh ok Bette what about the funeral?”

“Well I’m not allowed to go, I’m not going to send Holly to the funeral on her own, so we will miss it. And if he is lying and somewhere South Africa, then what is the point in going at all. “Mammy that was good thanks baby, ok let’s get up and start our day.

At breakfast table, Holly came up with a question that left us all speechless.

“Mamma can I please go to dad’s funeral?”

I look at Bette, and can see that she doesn’t know what to say or do.

“Mamma, did you hear me, can I go to the funeral?”

Bette looked at me, and then answer the question.

“Holly sweetheart, I’m sorry but you can’t go to the funeral. You dad last will and testament said that I am not allowed to go to the funeral, and I’m not going to send you alone to your dad’s funeral.”

“But mommy I want to go, he was my dad, I want to go.”

She stands up and storm out of the kitchen.

“Holly come back, sweetheart, let’s talk about this.”

But she storms out of there and I can hear her closed her bedroom door with a bang.

“Leave her Bette, just give her time, and rethink your decision on not sending her to the funeral.”

“Mom there is nothing to re think, I’m not going to send her alone, I’m sorry.”
