As Alice talked on the phone she could feel the mood in the room shift. She was listening to Bette but trying to keep her eye on Dana. Dana had moved to the far side of the kitchen and was trying to avoid any eye contact with Alice. When Alice was off the phone she turned to Dana and the awkward between the two returned.

That was Bette. Alice stated. Sheshe um, Alice was stumbling over her words not really knowing what she should say. Yeah, she wanted to see if Tina was here and how she was doing.

Dana was quietly looking at Alice waiting for her to finish.

Alice did not want to be discussing Bette and Tina with Dana right now but Dana did not seem to want to talk so she continued, Bette wanted me to tell Tina that she loves her. I dont know if I should though. I think I should just tell Tina that she called to check on her and then see from her reaction if she can handle hearing anything else.

There was a silence around them for a few more moments then both women turned towards the door as they heard noises coming from the other room. Alice quickly headed into the living room to check on Tina.

Hey there, Alice quietly spoke to Tina not wanting to startle her. How are you feeling today?

Tina was looking up at her with sad eyes, Um, you know Alice, I dont even know. I really need a shower though. Tina knew that she needed a scalding shower to clean off all of the mess from the night before. She just wanted to forget everything or wake up from what she only dreamed was a nightmare.

Sure, thats no problem. Alice was trying to be as accommodating as possible. She really didnt know what to do or say and didnt want to make things any harder for Tina. Why dont you have that shower and all put the kettle on? Or would you rather have coffee?

Eithers fine thanks. Ill see you in a bit. Tina got up from the couch and made her way towards the bedroom.

Call me if you need anything. Alice called after Tina.

Yeah, thanks. Tina was hardly even paying attention to anything around her as she made her way towards the shower.

Alice noticed that Dana hadnt followed her into the living room so she made her way back into the kitchen. She found Dana leaning against the counter waiting for her. Hows she doing?

I dont really know. She didnt have much to say. Shes gone for a shower then were going to have some tea. Are you going to stay? Alice knew that they needed to talk but she didnt want to hear what she was sure Dana was going to say. She was normally so good at reading Dana but everything had changed since they had kissed. Dana was so cold then hot that Alice didnt really know what to think.

No, I think I should go. Dana noticed that Alice was trying to hide her disappointment. I just think I should go and take care of some things, you know?

Alice didnt know but she just nodded anyways.

I want to see you later. Can I come back? Dana asked in a softer tone, unsure of what Alices answer would be.

Alice perked up when Dana said that she wanted to see her. Sure, of course. Ill call you and let you know if we go anywhere but Im pretty sure well be staying here all day.

Okay. Great. Well Ill call you before I come if I dont hear from you. Just in case you need anything or if Tina needs anything.

Okay. Good. They had said their pleasantries and Dana was ready to leave but neither made a move towards the door. They looked at one another unsure of what to do. Finally Dana made a move which Alice thought was towards the hall. As Dana stepped towards her Alice bumped into her and both women lost their balance for a moment grabbing onto one another so that they wouldnt fall.

Once they caught their balance Dana moved in closer to Alice. I was actually moving towards you. Her mouth lifted into a smirk.

Oh? The breath caught in Alices throat for a moment before Danas confession completely registered and she moved her lips towards Danas.

This kiss was more innocent than before as Alice slowly moved her lips across Danas. Dana waited patiently for Alice but couldnt resist her anymore. She moved her hands around to Alices back and slowly dragged her hands up Alices sides causing her to moan. Dana took this opportunity to slip her tongue inside Alices mouth and both women moaned into the kiss.

In the back of her head Alice heard movement coming from the bedroom and it registered that Tina must be out of the shower. She slowly pulled away from Dana but held onto her hand as they remained facing each other, Listen, Tinas out of the shower. As much as Id love to spend all day kissing you I think that I should go see how shes doing. Are you sure you dont want to stay? Alice hoped that Dana had changed her mind.

No, I really should go. But Ill call later. Dana moved in to kiss Alice again but both women jumped apart when Tina entered the kitchen.

Tina was too upset to notice anything weird as both women stared at the ground. Oh, hey Dana. I didnt know you were still here.

Yeah, I have to go but I can stay if you want friends around. How are you feeling? Dana meant it. She had wanted to go and talk to Tonya but she knew how much Tina needed her friends right now.

No, you can go. I feel bad enough imposing on Alice right now. Plus I need some time. Im not really in the talking mood.

Dana nodded. Okay, well Ill be back later. To check on you. She quickly added not wanting to seem suspicious for coming back. She moved towards Tina and hugged her, Were all here for you. I love you.

I know. Thank you so much Tina stayed hugging her for a moment then moved the sit at the kitchen table.

Im just going to walk Dana out. Ill be right back. Alice was telling Tina but was looking at Dana as the two left the room.

At the door the women feel back into the awkward silence that had become so familiar to them as they looked at one another. After a moment Dana moved in and placed a quick kiss on Alices lips, Ill call you later. With that she turned on her heels and made her way back to her car. Leaving a confused Alice starring at her retreating back in disbelief of the events that had unravelled between them.
