“Mama” Angelica cried racing across the patio to Bette.
“Hi Boo” she bent down to kiss Angelica who was wrapped around her leg. “Hey Shane” she frowned. “Where’s Tina?”
“Nice to see you too, Bette” Shane replied with a grin.
“I…” Bette stammered unsure how to recover from her faux pas.
“I suspect Alice is grilling her quite nicely” Shane shrugged. “Ms. Angelica insisted on coming with me to swim with her Mama. Tina said to tell you she’ll be here around four.”
“Thanks and thanks for staying with Angelica last night.” Bette said sincerely.
“Want to swim Mama, Auntie Shane get in pool” Angelica demanded.
“I don’t have my suit on like you and Mama, Auntie Shane will watch.”
“Put on your suit and join us.” Bette invited.
“Ok, be back in a few.”
Angelica was becoming a good swimmer. She could float without her water wings and was practicing her kick arms straight out. They spent an hour in the pool before Bette declared she was becoming a prune causing Angelica to giggle. Bette made cheese sandwiches and chicken fingers for lunch. Angelica played at the edge of the pool with some of her water toys while Bette and Shane watched her.
“I know you and Jenny are close but I am going to mop the floor with her.” Bette said quietly.
Shane sighed. “Al said there was a scene at the party last night.”
“She is out of control and I am going to take every penny she makes from Lez Girls.”
Shane looked at Bette sharply. She was serious Shane saw. Shane shook her head Jenny had gone too far with whatever she did last night. Shane loved her but she would not go against Bette for her especially over Lez Girls. “Do what you have to do.” Shane said.
Bette nodded she understood that this would not damage her relationship with Shane.
“Want to swim with me?” Angelica signed.
Bette looked up to find Jodi walking across the patio and responding to Angelica. “Can’t swim today, just have to pick up some things from your Mama” she signed back.

Gosh Kel this chapter was wonderful. This entire story has been unbelievable. That was the best exit line I’ve ever heard or read. Great post. Oh, I already knew about the U-haul, I thought it might have been something that I was not aware of. Again, great story and thanks very much for posting on Christmas. love the line about running around loose & the invisible collar…great story, great lines…it’s Boxing Day night already here. Thx for writing over christmas…as for me…unpacking is not quite over, 2 more rooms to do. Loving the house, went out bargain hunting 2day & struck some real good ones. My mom is going to spray the weeds for me as soon as the wind dies down…I know, I know but I’m hyperallergic to chemicals so she insists on doing it for me…isn’t she great???? Take care. I’ll be waiting for the next post.
