When Tasha and Kit opened The Planet, they did not know they would have the success that they did.  Heck, when they began their courtship 8 years ago, they did not know the success they’d have there either, especially with Kit 7 years Tasha’s senior.  Now with Tasha at 33 years old and Kit 40, theirs has been the most stable relationship amongst their group of friends.  Some would say that it is their opposing natures that draws them together.  Where Tasha is laid back and cool, Kit is feisty, where Tasha likes junk food; Kit is very health food conscious, well at least most of the time.  She runs 5 times per week to maintain her Foxy Brown figure whereas Tasha’s good genes continue to maintain hers. 

Most agree that it was an unlikely pairing, everyone except Tasha that is.  Being Bette’s long time best friend and college roommate, Tasha had a crush on Kit for years before Kit would give her a date.  Despite being pursued in earnest, Kit repeatedly turned Tasha down with replies of, “Maybe when you turn 18” then, “Maybe when you’re 21” and finally, “Look me up when you finish undergrad.”  Three years after receiving a Masters from Wharton’s, Tasha is laying a solid foundation in LA’s top accounting firm.  You wouldn’t know this to see her outside the office of course.  In well worn jeans, leather boots and a fitted white tee, Tasha shows to the Porter family home as she does most Friday nights to pick up her best friend to head to the strip…the strip being West Hollywood’s premier locale for hot food, hot music and hotter women.  Despite having had multiple one night stands, Tasha only has one hottie on her mind.  And that bodacious woman was Kit Porter.

Bette and Kit Porter lived alone after the passing of both parents in a fatal car crash when Kit was 19 and Bette was 12.  At that time Kit stepped up to the plate, transferring from NYU as a fulltime student to attend UCLA part time to raise her younger sister and ensure the necessary stability for a functioning household.  Although their parents’ well appointed life insurance policies were able to provide financially, emotionally Bette was a wreck for the first year after the accident.
