Previously…

Carmen, noticing Bette and
Tina making their way over to the dance floor, started playing a slower melody.
Once at their destination, Bette offered up her hand to Tina. Tina placed hers
into Bette’s while Bette pulled her in close. Tina lowered her head to Bette’s
shoulder as they melded into one and swayed to the music. The gang watched the
whole thing transpire. Alice was the first to speak.

Alice: It’s about time.
I’m so glad the mommies are back together.

Shane: Really.

Kit: Well it’s not like
they were going to listen to any of us. They had to figure it out on their own.

Dana: (Taking Alice’s
hand) Shall we? (Nodding over to the dance floor)

Alice: I thought you’d
never ask.

Dana and Alice walked hand
in hand over to the dance floor.

Kit: Sharon – c’mon, let
me get you a drink. It’s the least I can do.

Shane was already making
her way over to Carmen’s mixing table with two drinks in her hands. After
seeing how both couples were willing to make grand gestures for each of their
respective partners and how happy they all were, Shane thought it was time that
she opened herself up and let someone in to her world. As she got closer to
Carmen, a huge smile emerged on her face and for the first time, in a long
time, she felt something for another person. She didn’t know what that was or
if Carmen was even ready to reciprocate, but she willing to take this ride –
wherever it led her.

The music may have changed
to a quicker beat, but Bette and Tina had failed to notice. They continued to
sway to their own rhythm – holding each other close. They were snapped back to
the present by a now semi-sober Alice, Dana and the rest of the encroaching
crowd jumping to a thumpin’ beat that Carmen was playing. The couple just
looked at each other, without saying a word, and decided they’d rather not be
in the middle of a crowded dance floor. Bette held Tina’s hand tight, as if she
feared losing her in the crowd, and escorted her back to the bar. She pulled
out a bar stool and offered it up to Tina who declined because she had her own
plan in mind. Tina leaned in close to Bette’s ear so that she could hear her.
