    In the last chapters:

     

    Tina sent Helena an email looking for Dylan to talk to her about her film.  Peggy Peabody wanted an answer about whether to go forward with Dylan’s film and Tina had been hired to make that decision.  Tina loved the film, but has some editing suggestions.

     

    Carmen redecorated the house she shared with Shane—adding many Mexican touches including tablecloths, art work, kitchen utensils, and candles; later she asked Shane if she had ever read several Latino writers.  That night, Carmen went out with another Latina, an old friend named Papi who Shane discovered was Carmen’s ex.  Shane began to doubt if she was the woman that Carmen wanted.  Alice and Dana helped Shane look for Carmen and found her at a club—dancing provocatively with Papi.  Shane was tremendously jealous, but Carmen soothed her and they went home together.

     

    Alice told Dana while they were packing for Canada that she hadn’t invited her mother to the wedding because Lenore would just be in the way.  They left for Canada.

     

    Bette and Tina argued about Jodi Lerner–Bette accusing Tina of being irrationally jealous since NOTHING was going on and she barely liked Lerner.  Tina was angry about the TTY machine being sent to their home and wondered if Bette planned on spending evenings conversing with her.  Bette said no and that the TTY had not been her idea, but Phyllis Kroll’s.

     

    Bette argued with her faculty at CU and came to the aid of a talented foreign student whose English speaking was abysmal.  Bette’s job had depressed her and she went home to Tina who made love to Bette and helped her forget her day. 


    Stephanie told Henry that she didn’t want to be with anyone right now, but in the future, she planned on returning to her former fiancé, Peter in North Carolina.
