le petite Nicolas
As far as Melvin was concerned the only perfect thing in his life was his grandson David for whom he had sole custody and raised almost from infancy. Unfortunately for everyone else the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Living under Melvin’s influence for his entire young life David grew up to be just as bigoted and ignorant as his grandfather. He sabotaged Bette’s adoption application of Angelica by agreeing with the social worker that a child needed to be raised by heterosexual parents; essentially saying that gay people should not be allowed to adopt.
David was the only patchy cloud in Kit’s otherwise blue sky life but on the bright side they were making strides towards a better relationship. Roger was the role model and father figure that David never had even though he spent his evenings and weekends in full drag, make-up, wigs, high-heeled shoes and women’s clothing David grew to respect him. David skepticism soon turned to admiration when Roger showed him by example to look beyond the exterior into the soul of a person before you make judgments.

For years even before Kit owned it the Planet was the neighborhood hangout for Bette, Tina, Alice, Shane, and their dearly departed friends Dana Fairbanks who died of breast cancer and Jenny Schecter who died in a tragic accident. The Sunday family brunch had become a tradition for the core group and others would come and go depending on who was sleeping with whom on any given day. Until the break-up Bette and Tina were the only monogamous long-term partners in the group. Alice, Dana, Jenny and Shane were incestuous in their interconnectedness with shared lovers and overlapping love triangles. Alice and Dana were best friends who became lovers only to ruin a great friendship and doom their relationship. Shane and Jenny were two very broken people trying to find something in the other to hold them together but that ended tragically as well. Alice and Bette were former lovers that remained friends but it was Tina who Alice gravitated to while Bette bonded more with Shane. Never the less through all the trial and tribulations, heartbreaks and heartaches, hurts and losses they remained a close-knit group.
On this particular Sunday it was just Bette, Alice and Shane sharing the camaraderie. It wasn’t Bette’s weekend with Angie so there was no hand-off with Tina on the schedule. Angie had an invitation to a friends’ birthday party at one of those noisy child centric mega entertainment centers where they filled the kids with sugar and let them loose. Tina agreed to take Angie to the party but like most of the parents and adult guardians she found a quiet zone where she could keep an eye on Angie but not chance getting trampled by 20 screaming hyperactive five and six year olds all vying for the same video game, bouncy ride, or interactive imaginings of the fun zone.

????????? Right now I dont know what to say or think of the story…im just going to keep reading…
Thanks for the update, appreciate it.
So sweet the sibling bond already developing… Thanks for the update!!!
Loving this story!
I’m with tibettenation1. It’s a nice story though and I’ll stick with it. Still hoping it may develop into a Tibette story eventually! Look forward to the next post.
I’m still reading this story, because you are a amazing writer and i like this story very much.
Love the bonding between Angie and Nicolas.
But still hoping that B& T will regain their trust in each other and hope we can convince you to give us our happy ending.
I like your story, but I will love your story when Bette and tina are together. Pps
Write what you want it’s your story. But I also would like T and B to find there way back to each other. Thanks for the post. :)
Im with the other readers on this one if your not going with tibette then im not sure I like the Barbara story line if its to be a stepping stone to tibette finding there way back then yes carry on but im not feeling it.
Nice story….keep up the saga
Hey Bat, sorry I didn’t comment earlier. But when reading your author’s note and the comments I couldn’t stay away from commenting any longer. So let me say, that I really love your storyline and I also love the prospect of Bette and Barbara getting more than ‘friends with benefits’ but I understand that it’s your decision in which way to take the storyline. Always thought that Bette and Barbara would have made a great couple but as it seems there are not really many Bette and Barbara shippers around. Anyway just wanted to let you know that as with your other stories I am loving your writing and your storyline. Please keep up your incredible writing and looking forward to the next chapter.
Here goes Leigh, haha. I am waiting with bated breath. Nicolas Shane Porter – very nice.
Coming out of the shadows to put my 2 cents on it!!
I’ll read anything you write no matter the direction you’ll choose.I’d like to know if you’re going to finish your other story:”What More Could I Want”,that you stop at chapter 65?
Any updates in the horizon?
Im feeling the a bit of the same sentiments as tibettenation. Probably because I’ve always been such a diehard tibetter, but I completely respect your prerogative on where you want this story to go and the writing is superb. I think most of my hesitancy has to do with something you wrote about Tina feeling as if she were the one that lost out whereas Bette has come out smelling like roses. I tend to sympathize with Tina here. They both made mistakes and we could play the blame game all day, but I don’t think one should be absolved over the other. Not sure If you or any other readers watch Orange Is the new black, but the best way I can explain it is by using a reference to a quote by Piper Chapman…basically they both did the crime, but in the end only one of them is paying for it. However, this story is Bette-centric and as you stated in your AN, they each have lives independent of the other. Perhaps if the story were geared more towards Tina we would see that she has positive things going on in her life, as well. But as it’s not, I am just assuming the bit about Tina feeling shorted in some way must be accurate and that’s unfortunate. Anyhow, I can’t wait to see where this goes and I’m coming along for the ride.
it seem, doesn’t showed my comment on my first round, so I’ll explain it again.
I’m like the others. Bette and Tina would really like you to find their way to each other. difficult for me to imagine this story without a happy ending.
but I respect your idea, and I still like to read this story. I love it!
I love Angie, and the bonding between her and Nicolas, so sweet!
