“Are you sure?”

“Absolutely.”

“Gratitude, “she says staring at Better before yawning walking towards the others. Taking a few steps she turns around to face her.

“Whatever troubles you I’ll say a prayer to the Gods your mind finds some measure of peace it’s what helps calms me.”

“Calms you?”

“Yes, from thoughts of my wife.”

“You are married?”

“Yes, recently married, “she says with a prideful tone smiling for the first time since engaging in conversation. The woman was young could not be more than 19 years of age hearing she was married tugged away at Bettes conscience further.

“Why marry so young?”

“Words I get asked often, “she says blushing, “It’s simple she is the sun.”

“A meaning well understood.”

“Besides, I am to be a mother soon my first.” Hearing the young woman speak in anticipation of motherhood ignited a slight flutter in Betters heart coercing waves of jealously throughout her veins.

“Probable cause for celebration.”

“Yes, I look forward——–.”

“Go now sleep, “she says cutting her off, “You must regain your strength.”

“Gratitude, “she says before disappearing down the path towards the others. Bette found herself in a position far worse than the one that held her from finding sleep. She was now left alone with her thoughts not only of the lives she commanded but of Tina. To hear the young soldier speak proudly of her impending motherhood pained her. She loved Tina, she was her wife, friend, and her sun. Knowing they could never conceive a child together if by some miracle motherhood became a presented opportunity it would take an act of the Gods to pry her from Tinas side. The feelings she held regarding children she kept hidden within the confines of her heart were now bought to surface. Her lips, taste, warmth, and smile all of which she desperately missed. She stood watch until sunrise upon seeing the sun she silently prayed her letter had reached Tina.

Dana had not engaged in much conversation with anyone since leaving her mothers chambers. Ever since she could remember her choices were never her own but made by those appointed over her with her mother making the final decisions. She never thought nothing of the sorts as it seemed privileged given her birth right. As she got older decisions made on her behalf grew to be bothersome. Her mother with humble intentions commanded instruction to which she was the last to be notified. Although, it bothered it her it was tolerable until such decisions made interfered with matters of her heart. Laying in her chambers she ignored the three previous messengers her mother sent. Judging from the time of day it was dinner and she knew her absence from the table would infuriate her mother.
