Let It Happen – Chapter IV
”Is THAT what you and George talked about last night? My infamous past?,” Bette asked, incredulously.
Tina sat up.
”Who said anything about George and I talking last night?” She looked at the suddenly fidgety woman curiously.
”Well… I saw you step into a car, a limo I might add, as I approached the hotel last night. You were all dressed up, and so was he,” Bette responded, eyebrows arched, accusing.
”You saw us?” Tina asked, really curious now. The conversation was taking an interesting turn, she thought to herself.
”Yes, I did. I also saw him kiss you….Be careful, Tina,” Bette responded, with an even, almost frosty tone.
Tina was confused, but at the same time amused by the jealous look etched all over Bette’s face. Brown eyes were flashing warning signals as they searched for answers in her hazel ones.
Tina paused. Then decided to probe from another angle. ”So….is that what’s been eating at you?” she asked gently.
Bette heaved a sigh. ”Yeah, a bit,” she admitted, twisting and twirling the paper napkin from the café, looking away from Tina.
Tina exhaled a sigh of relief. ”Well, you’re right about everything…. BUT, it’s not what you think. Yes, we did go out to a fancy place, and yes we talked long into the night, mainly about you, by the way. And yes, he did kiss me, but it was a chaste one, I promise. George said he flew in on some urgent business, and when he saw me, he invited me to join him for dinner. I never got to tell you he, Diane and Niall were kind enough to talk to me that night in the gallery. They saw me leave the video art booth some time after you’d left, and they had noticed you were troubled. They also saw I was looking a bit out of sorts when they saw me. We ended up having a nice conversation that night.”
Bette was silent. Tina continued, “I was looking for you, and even then wanted to talk to you about what happened between us in the booth. You know deep down that George would be the last person who would try to get me from you Bette, and that he, Niall and Diane care deeply about you, and only want you to be happy. You have to believe that,” she said carefully, trying to assure the beautiful woman that she shouldn’t read more into what she thought she saw.

An other marvellous chapter, full of emotions and feelings, with your delicacy signature…
Right now, facing dark shadows in my little life, it’s my medication and, more, a priceless bit of blue sky in my inside rainy day…
I can only hope you’ll read that, for I’m such a late reader of this story of yours, but anyway I’ll keep it with my favourite TIbette stories !
Thank you, really.
A.
Again, apologies for the delay. I was unplugged for quite a while as I mentioned to you in another reply.
Am glad you found my stories to be “a bit of blue sky.” I hope you find the other stories later on to be as light.
keep well,
S
