    Let Me In – 7

"As far as bad decisions go, baby? I’d give that a ten." Tina told Angelica lightly. She smiled weakly at Angelica. "Okay, fine. A hundred. On a scale of one to ten."

Angelica grabbed onto her mother’s hands, and playfully clapped them together.

"Oh, applauding me. Funny." Tina said wryly, grinning at her child. "You know what? Let’s stick to my original plan. You and me. What do you say?"

Angelica uttered gibberish, which Tina took as protest. "I know, I want your Momma B in, too, but I think I royally screwed that one up, so…"

Angelica whimpered, and looked at her mother.

"No. No. None of the wide-eyed look." Tina shook her head. "That’s not fair."

Angelica’s bottom lip trembled in a pout.

"That’s cheating." Tina reprimanded lightly, knowing she could never resist either the Porter wide-eyed poor-me routine, or the pouting. And, she had to face it: Angelica was Bette’s daughter. Maybe not biologically, but Bette had been her every other thought throughout her pregnancy with Angelica.

Tina lifted Angelica and smiled fondly at the little girl. "Can I just say how thankful I am for you? And that I am so glad you are this really patient little girl. You don’t cry, you don’t whine, and you have made my life as your mom infinitely easier. So thank you, honey, and I’m giving you permission to be as troublesome as you want when you’re older. But not too much, okay, because then I’ll just be grumpy with you."

Angelica giggled at her mother, which earned her a genuine broad smile from her mom.

"God, you are exactly like your mother." Tina told her. "You know, there was a time she’d just look at me and I’d smile? For no apparent reason."

So when did that change? Tina wondered silently, her gaze still fixed on Angelica. She lowered Angelica back to her lap, and gazed in wonderment at the little girl.

She sighed, and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

She was lonely. She didn’t want to be alone, but knew that was a horrible reason to be with someone. So she was going to do this properly. If she really, truly wanted to be with Bette, she had to do this properly.

    1. Of course continue. You’ve confused me with your author’s note…will this be an unhappy TiBette story like the show?… I hope not. I’ll be reading.

    2. T.D. spare me the tbc? please. Oy! It’s very nice to see a decent, compassionate, grown up version of Tina. Might even make the basis for a good TV show. Crap! What am I thinking? How could you have any drama without a completely hateful, pointlessly vindictive Tina? Well, it was still nice to read anyway. Wonder what Bette will make of this turn or events.

    3. yes! please please continue. this seems like a great prelude to Pick a part AND how the rest of the show should go. But then again iam in denialville as well. Thanks!

    4. TD, thank you , thank you for posting this. I am too a Tina fan first (love tibette) but I hope when you mean the fiction starts here we will see a good resolve at some point vs the crap S3 has given us. If it is a prelude to Pick a part as said, then Yay! I hope you can post regulary and can’t wait to read!

    5. Certainly hope you continue. Makes it even more interesting to have precede Pick a part, they’ve certainly overcome alot. This would be interesting to bring up there too. ” Ewww mom you slept with a guy?”

    6. yes please continue. I hate the character of Tina on the show. she does not seem to have a brain. at least with your writing, she seems to have thought about her actions. keep going tiff

    7. yes please continue. I hate the character of Tina on the show. she does not seem to have a brain. at least with your writing, she seems to have thought about her actions. keep going tiff

    8. ive hit the jackpot today. ive had a few moments to get on line. cant wait to have a computer again. loved it. you can write whatever you like and ill read it. this was great. thanks

    9. I guess Tina finally saying what she should have been saying all along over the phone is better than not at all. Hopefully Bette lets her back in without too much drama. It would be so welcomed to have those two actually getting along, and admitting how they really feel. IC has them so screwed up this season it pains me to watch.

    10. Umm, Tiff_duke, this chapter actually made me cry. You should definitely continue with this story in the direction that you see fit. Much like Bette, all I want is for Tina to verbalize that she misses her…and not this train wreck of a season.

    11. never ask again, just continue…since now this story is an official prequel to Pick a part, i’m happy..even if it will be sad for a while, i know where it ends…thank you, thank you, thank you

    12. Tiff – you know I’ll read anything you write – it copuld be your shopping list i’d probably still read it! You write Tina as she should be written – keep doing it!I like this one – that shes making tentative steps to communicate with Bette.

    13. Yeah, do continue please! I want to see how Bette’s doing right now. I want to see how Tina would figure things out and do things right. I want to see TiBetLica living a happy life.

    14. I hope that you will continue with this story. This is the way it should be with Tina realizing that she still is deeply in love with Bette and is willing to work to get her back.

    15. LOL@Gumby. Anyway, since this is now a prelude to Pick A Part, then yes do continue! This part cracked me up: “…I’m giving you permission to be as troublesome as you want when you’re older. But not too much, okay, because then I’ll just be grumpy with you.”
