I walked by your place today. The lights were on and I could the your shadow , your beauty still evident in your silhouette. I stood in my place for moments, taking in everything I could, remembering all the moments we shared. You pull the curtains, and finally I see your face. I hide, I don’t even know why, but I felt the urge to let the world be just you. But what difference would that make, you have always been my world. Even after all these years, your beauty still remains, and my heart still jumps at the sight of your smile. I don’t know why I ever left you, all I know is that it was the biggest mistake of my life.

Just as I take my last deep breath to ready myself to walk to your door, I hear a car door slam and I hide yet again. A familiar face, Tina. She’s so beautiful still, but I wonder where Bette is.

A pointy object pokes my back and I hear her voice, “ you go anywhere near my wife and I will fucking kill you”.

I slowly raise my hands in the air and turn around to see a confused Bette, “ Hey Bette”.

Her brows furrow and she lowers her hand, “ Dana?”

I turn my head towards Alice’s house where her and Tina are standing there in shock, now;s my chance to escape.

Before anyone says a word I slowly start to walk towards my car, “ I should…ummm….I should probably get going…”

Tina’s voice is choked, “ Dana…Dana, don’t you dare go?”

I don’t know what to do, “ I didn’t want it to happen like this, let me try it again ok. Tomorrow, I promise”.

They are all speechless, and I am saved. I get into my car and start the engine, I turn on my head lights. And there she is, her tears glistening in the light, “ Alice…”, and I know she heard me, because after a small smile, her lips say, “ Dana…”.
