Life changes unexpectedly – Chapter 12

“I just thought, that I might leave, give you some time to yourself.” Bette says.

“I don’t want you to leave.” Tina pouts.

“I don’t either, but I think I should. I’ll come by tomorrow before they leave to say goodbye and to take you out some place. I have some things to do at home, cleaning and dusting and things like that.” Bette says and smiles.

“Still won’t tell me where you’re taking me?” Tina asks.

“No, you’ll know tomorrow.” Bette replies.

“Okay. I’ll miss you.” Tina says and leans in for another kiss.

“I’ll miss you too. I’ll call you tonight before I go to bed.” Bette says.

“Good. Come in and say bye?” Tina says.

    “Sure.” Bette replies.

They walk inside and Bette says goodbye and tells them that she’ll come by tomorrow before they leave to wave them off.

“Bye guys.” Bette says as she walks out the door. Tina stands in the doorway and watches Bette leave.

“You are in love, aren’t you?” Michael asks.

Tina closes the door and turns.

“Love? I don’t know. Love is a strong word.” Tina says, trying to pacify it a little.

“It is, and I think that’s what you fell for Bette.” Michael says.

“Is it obvious?” Tina asks, biting her lower lip.

“Yeah, it is. But if it’s obvious to Bette, I don’t know. I kind of got the same feeling from her. She’s just holding it back a little more than you do.” Michael says.

“Wow, when did you become a wise man?” Tina says and chuckles.

“I just tell how I see it.” He replies.

“Yeah. I know she’s holding back a little. She’s been married before.” Tina says.

“Wow, she has? To a man?” He asks.

“No, to a woman. They even had a child together.” She says.

“Oh, what happened?” He asks curiously.

“There was a car accident. They both died after complications from the accident a few days later. Her son was two. His name was Isaac.” Tina says. She’s almost crying by telling the sad story.

“Oh wow. That is sad. How long ago?” Michael asks.

“About two years ago.” Tina replies.

“No wonder she’s holding back.” He says.

“Yeah.” Tina says and let her mind wander to Bette.

    1. I think Lamentamini is right about the cemetery. I think Bette is going to say goodbye to her past life and let her wife know that she loves Tina a lot and wants to start a new life with her. Tina should not be worried Bette just wants to show her she is ready to start moving on. PPS

    2. Ummmm, you have peaked my interest here. Tina is very uncomfortable or at least that is what I am feeling. Love Michael and Megs. Hope to see more of them.

    3. Hey Lauren, Good to have more of this delightful drama. Sweet to see that the love that Tina and Bette are only just admitting to is there for all to see. Amazing that it is Micheal is the one to say it how he sees it. Then, I get the feeling that Bette has taken Tina home. Can’t wait to find out where they are. Only know Tina is not best pleased. More please. Many thanks for this morning entertainment. Your Loyal Fan.
