    .Life Obstacle. Chapter II.

Having opened her eyes early in the morning, Tina smiled to herself and turned her head to face the window to welcome the morning sunshine. A truly wonderful day. The trail of her thoughts wandered off to her work and the project she was starting to develop, she planned to spend the weekend working on the material she received yesterday. She played her Friday meeting with new clients over in her mind and noted to herself that plans to widen their social relationships might actually work sooner than they all expected.

However, then she remembered seeing Eric last night. They went out to a party held by his close friends, it was truly entertaining and enjoyable until they had a ride home and Eric remarked that Tina seemed distant most of the time, her thoughts ought to be somewhere far away, definitely not with him.

“You hardly paid any attention to me today, Tina,” he said as they stopped on the red light. “How are things at work?”

“Great, everything is better than I thought, I’ve got a new project that carries a lot of positive potential.”

“I’m glad for you. But still, you’re not yourself today.”

Tina looked at him sadly, she’d rather he not keep talking about how weird she looks. “I don’t think so, Eric. I’m probably a little tired. It’s Friday, after all. “

As soon as Eric parked his car in front of Tina’s apartment, he asked if she wanted to invite him over for the weekend of love and passion. Only three weeks ago it would have been an offer she wouldn’t refuse. But not now. She said she was not feeling well and suggested they see each other after the weekend when she is in better condition.

Tina entered her apartment to find it dark and lonely, that very minute she thought that maybe she needn’t have asked Eric to give her some privacy, but when she proceeded to sit down on the couch and closed her eyes, one single image emerged in her head. Bette. This sole word awoke a hundred of butterflies in her belly. Two hundred This woman is absolutely not like anyone she’s met before; it’s strange how things work, you meet people and there’s this certain first impression, you either like somebody and think you can relate to them or you find yourself not at all thrilled and wish you never started talking to them, but however, as time goes by, the first impression merges into the second one and it’s a complete opposite. Somebody who seemed smart at first turns out to lack genuine intelligence and interest in anything besides their own persona and somebody who seemed distant and pathetic is way better than that, engaging. This little system works every single time and that’s the human essence. But not this time; this time, the moment Tina saw Bette at her gallery, she thought she was gorgeous, intelligent and absolutely appealing and this hasn’t changed with time, Bette’s undisputedly great image only thickened and now she seems just as smart and beautiful only better.

    1. Love this story. Bette may be moving a bit too fast, but its not because Tina’s not ready, its becasue she
s scared. The first time with a straight girl, its the fear you have to nurture not the desire.
