Previously:

"Come to lunch with me at the planet just like we used to." Bette said.

"k." Jess said. Bette knew that Jess could never resist lunch at the planet the one thing that had never changed.

Jess sat in the passenger seat of Bette’s new Saab SUV listening to Bette roll off her explanation of why she kept Anne and Jess apart. She told Jess the whole story of why they left and the decision that she and Anne had made about how they thought it would be easier for Everyone if Anne stayed away.

"Log time no see." Marina said to Jess when she walked in.

"I know. How did the book tour go?" Jess asked.

"Great. I am glad to be home." Marina said.

"Me too." Jenny said.

"We saw all your games on TV." Marina said.

"You guys actually watched the games." Jess said doubtful.

"Well not really but the TV was always turned to it so we could keep up with it." Marina said.

"That’s what I thought." Jess said smiling.

"Aren’t you supposed to be in class." Kit said from behind the counter.

"I am cutting." Jess said.

"Jess we talked about that." Kit said.

"Talked about what?" Bette asked walking in.

"Kit was just threatening to turn me in for cutting." Jess said.

"Oh. Kit can I talk to you in the office for a sec." Bette said.

"Yeah sure." Kit said and the two walked back into the office.

"So what are you doing out of class?" Jenny asked.

"Drama." Jess said.

"I see. What would life be with out it." She said.

"True but I have had enough to last a lifetime." Jess said. Jess joined Jenny at her table.

"So what have you been up to lately I heard about the party the other night." Jenny said.

"That means you have talked to Alice. Other than class and practice Cat and I have just been hanging out with each other." Jess said.

"I bet." Jenny said.

"Here you go Jess." Marina said putting Jess’s usual smoothie down in front of her.
