    Life’s Constants: Part 7

“Ooohh….a project.  I love projects.  What’s going on?” Alice squealed.  It was more a screech than a squeal.

“It’s called ‘Project: Save TK’s Ass.”

    “What did you do?”

“I made the mistake of going out to dinner with another woman.”

    “What?  Who, Tina?”

    “Kate Arden.”

“Oh my God, I thought you were done with her!”

    “I was.  I am.”

“After you spend all that time trying to get her back, you decide to go out with another woman?”

“Alice, I don’t need you to patronize me.  I need your help.  Are you in or out?”

“I’m in.  I’m in.  What do you need me to do?”

“Meet me at the house in twenty minutes.”

    “See you there.”

Thirty minutes later, Tina pulled up to her home.  Alice wasn’t too far behind.

“Alice, can you help me with these bags?” Tina asked, popping her trunk.  There were three bags in the trunk.

“What is all this?” Alice reached for one of the bags.

“Two of the bags are groceries, and the small one has a couple of things I picked up along the way.  You’ll see once we get in the house.”

They moved into the house sitting down all the bags.  Alice put the groceries away while Tina took out the contents of the other bag and placed them on the table.  There were wild violets, a sea shell, and a post card that had a picture of two older women, all smiles.

“TK, what is all of this?”

“This,” She said, holding the violets that she ripped from the ground, “are violets, just like the ones we saw on our first date.  And this, “She picked up the sea shell, “is a reminder of our first date before Angelica was born.  And lastly, this postcard is what I want us to look like in 50 years.”

“That’s sweet, Tina.  No, what you are going to do with them?”

“I’m going to write little messages and have her follow them to the kitchen.”

“What do you need me for?”

“You’re my new assistant.  I need you to start making signs and help me with dinner.  Now, get to work!”

    1. We are all so happy that you ae so prolific this weekend and I loved this chapter, especially this last part where Tina tried to extricate herself from the result of her own stupidity. And so happy that Bette forgave her cause tht really could have gone so far afield, we would have had the old situation all over again. They are really in a good place now if they can just stop shooting themselves in the feet. Hope we have a little more of the story left, don’t want it to end yet. PPS

    2. Wow, what a way to make up. Let your lover know that they are really the light in the darkness. The light that leads to the heart when everything else is falling apart.
