Dana was rushing around, trying to get ready she pulled on a pair of Al’s jeans and a hoodie that was laying around in her room, she hurriedly put on some socks and her running shoes, she was looking for her car keys when she remembered she had got a cab over to Alice’s apartment, she saw Alice’s mini keys sitting on the table in the hall and she grabbed them. She felt fine to drive and this was an emergency, she jumped in the mini and sped all the way to the hospital.

When she reached the intensive care unit there was loads of Doctors and Nurses running in and out of Alice’s room, Dana walked slowly down the hall towards the room, then she saw a nurse walking towards to her "Dana Fairbanks?" the nurse asked Dana, she just nodded her head "I’m Michelle Ross I am the nurse looking after Alice tonight" she added "Follow me please." Michelle said directing Dana to a door with Family Room written on it, they went inside and sat down "Dana the reason we had to ask you to come down is because Alice’s heart stopped again, it took us a while to get it going again, we are just trying to get her stable just now and when she is more settled you can go in and be with her. But we had to call a next of kin down just in case and Iain told me about you and Alice so I thought best to call you." Michelle explained. Dana started crying and the nurse put her arm around her shoulder and gave her a hug. "I will come and get you when the doctors have got her more stable, ok?" again Dana just nodded her head. This couldn’t be happening her heart had stopped twice in the one day and yet she was still here. Dana did then what she hadn’t done in awhile she got down on her knees and prayed to god the Alice would be ok, she was making all kind of deals just so Alice would wake up.

Before Dana knew it an hour had passed she was just about to get up to go and get herself a cup of coffee when Michelle came back in. "Dana the Doctors have managed to get Alice stable again, if you want to follow me you can go in and see her." Michelle said while walking back out the door, Dana was close behind her. They walked into Alice room and she was laying the exact same way when Dana saw her before. "Even though she is sedated she can hear you so we encourage family to talk to patients as much as possible. I know its hard seeing her like this…" the nurse spoke softly. "I also called Bette Porter as she is a next of kin for Alice too, she says she will be in just shortly" Michelle said before telling Dana she was just going to be outside the room if she needed her for anything. Michelle left and Dana sat in the chair at the side of the bed, she reached over and put her hand in Alice’s.
