“How can I throw away everything I have? Haven’t I learned anything?” Bette muttered as she carefully crawled out of bed, careful not to wake Jodi.

“I can’t believe how loudly she snores. Seriously,” said Bette glanced over at the closet door, which was half open.

I should see if Tina needs something to wear.  Bette thought as she made her way to the place that was the source of so many disagreements and wonderful memories.

“Which one do you like, the blue or the black? Really it’s not that difficult Bette” said Tina as she waited for a response

     “Hello.”  Nothing.

“Bette!” said Tina as she tossed a shoe at Bette which hit her in the leg.

“Ouch!” “They both look great. You look great. I don’t know what you’re so worried about, it’s just dinner,” Bette replied nonchalantly as she continued to try to pick the perfect necklace to go with her first white Jill Sanders suit.

“I’m excited. I’ve never been to Lo Sole Mios. It’s very chic. I want to make a good impression; you know. In case someone catches my eye,” said Tina.

“Besides, if you get to buy that ridiculously expensive suit, the least I do is be the perfect accessory.”

“You can be that without the blue or the black skirt,” said Bette as she closed the space between them.

“In fact, I’ve got a better idea.”

They never did make it to dinner that night. Bette smiled at the memory.

If only I had paid more attention. If only we had talked, just once. If only I had let her know how I grieved for our son, for our family.

I told Tina that I didn’t have any answers to any of the whys, but I lied. Why couldn’t I have just told her the truth?

    If only.

“This place is a fucking pit!” Why did I ever tell Jodi she could leave some of her clothes here when she stayed over, Bette thought as she kicked a pair of shoes out of the way.

Jodi’s clothes now filled up half the closet threatening to take over Tina’s side.  It didn’t feel right. It would always be Tina’s side.

    1. oh wow!!!! written so well it breaks my heart…and now Jodi’s heart is breaking; altho I have NO TIME for her, I never like to give anyone a broken heart so I can see how hard this was for Bette.

    2. So beautifully written. As much as I don’t like Jodi with Bette, I feel sorry for her broken heart. I hope on the show (if it happens) Bette tells Jodi the truth. Excellent chapter. I always love to see Bette and Tina together–and an honest Bette to boot :) Hope to see more from you.

    3. It was so amazing how you wrote Bette and Tina losing control of their denial and letting the love flow. However…Jodi gets on my nerves but that would cut so bad to see with your own eyes before being told that your time was up.

    4. I hope before this happen on the show,{if it does} Bette will tell Jodie that Tina is the only one for her and that she wants her family back. I believe the lady that is going to play Helena .will be in Jodies headlights. thanks
