    Lost – part 2

What would it be like to sail into the darkness and never look back? To head nowhere and be sure you would never arrive?

Tina huddled on the sand, enveloped in the isolation of the emptiness around her. Her eyes strained to see into the murkiness where sky met sea, looking for more than answers”seeking the questions.

She had run out of the bedroom, out of the house, and had kept on running. She drove for hours, making her way north along the coast, until she could drive no more. She ran through the sand, heedless of her surroundings, until she stumbled. She stayed where she fell for what seemed like hours, but could only have been minutes. Her fingers clawed the sand as her tears streamed down her face and dripped from her chin. Ever muscle in her body tensed as wave after wave of emotion swept her body.

She wished her tears would sweep her out to sea.

When the emotion was spent, she curled into herself and stared into the future, into nothingness.
