    The match finals and then the homecoming

     

    By 11pm they were on their flight, Tina and Katie both asleep next to Bette who awake and contemplating the changes to her life which had made her so happy and yet so confused.  Bette felt so good just having Tina with her – taking care her, cheering her, supporting her.  Tina was so far beyond just being her personal assistant.  Tina was what Bette thought Jody would be in her life when she married but she was becoming more and more disillusioned with that paricular vision.

     

    They arrived at the airport a little before 4am.  No one was more shocked that Jody was there to greet them than Bette.

     

    “Jody, what are you doing here?”  Bette asked.

     

    “Where else would I be?  I missed you of course.”  Jody reached his arms around Bette giving her a thorough kiss.  Bette pulled away and frowned at him trying to figure out what was going on but Tina already guessed by the look he gave her; this was as much for Tina’s benefit as for his own. 

     

    “Let’s get you home, darling.  Carlos is getting your bags”  He looked to Tina, “Yours as well.”

     

    Tina nodded.  She was grateful for that as she had her arms full of a sleeping Katie at the moment.

     

    Tina would you like to be dropped off at your house on the way or come to ours to get your car?”  Jody asked.

     

    Bette looked at a tired Tina as they made their way through the concourse to the park stop outside..  “Tina.  Why don’t you just spend the night?  There’s obviously plenty of room and then you won’t have to worry about getting your car.”

     

    Tina looked at Bette’s genuine want for her to stay the night and then at Jody who, by the look on his face, was weighing up this option to determine how it could work for him.

     

    “That would be great actually Bette.  Then I could get an early start finishing up the details of tomorrow night’s party.”

     

    They loaded into the limo, with Tina with Katie on her lap, facing Bette and Jody who seemed to develop an amazing need to touch Bette in the time that they were away.  Or maybe it was just that Tina was more conscious of it now.

    7. Bette has some serious figuring out to do, afterall, it’s not just her and T here, there is also little Katie! Hopefully Bette will see that what she has with Jodi is nothing compared to what she could have with Tina.

    14. This story has two great components 1) Tennis and the other a absolutly great story line… Katie is just great and so innocenty telling Bette what she knows already.Great writing and PPS

    16. Damn. I feel so bad for Tina. Not so much for Bette. She made her bed.. now she has to lie in it. Flirting with Tina all weekend..and then letting her husband pound her with Tina in the next room over. That shit is cruel. Maybe Bette will realize when Helena tries some moves on Tina that she won’t be waiting forever. PPS.
