Love and Affection Chapter 30

Bette had a demon in her heart of…and it was consumed of Betsy.  Bette had learned to keep the pain at bay..Betsy was her first love and gave Bette an opening of what passionate love making was.  Bette was not a person to admit that she felt this way about someone before Tina and it was the closest she had come to feel this way.  Tina and her were something else, there just this perfect fit and connection.  Betsy was all fire and lust..love came after and it was hateful love.  Love that had deceit and agony, which was something that Bette could not ever get over.  Bette and Betsy went to France for a vacation and it was supposed to rekindle their relationship and make amends for promises that kept on being broken.  Betsy had been cheating on Bette with her assistants over and over again.  Bette called off and just had to focus on school and not her heartache.   Her heartache was so distracting that she considered transferring to another school.  Luckily Alice and Shane came from their college nearby and told her to either transfer to Brown with them or tell Betsy to fuck off.  Needless to say, Betsy won Bette won her over with the words ‘I will never hurt you again.’  Bette went with Betsy for her art show in France and some time on her Spring break to make up for their lost time.  Bette was a skeptic and wasn’t too hopeful and she loved Betsy, so she fucked either way.

On the trip all seemed to be going well and love was started to bubble with possibilities for Bette, so she thought.  While Bette was out doing some sightseeing, while Betsy was working with the curator for her show, Bette stopped by to meet up for lunch.  With that, Bette walked in with Betsy fucking two men in their hotel room.  Bette again left with her heart broken and lost.  Bette went back to school, picked up her heals, and graduated with honors from Yale.  She did not accept phone calls or visits from Betsy and was away when she could with Alice and Shane.

As Bette read the letter from Betsy, it was a like a horrific feeling of unwelcoming nostalgia.  She ran to the bathroom and puked up what she had in her and screamed at her bitterness of her first love.  ‘I hate that woman.  What she has done to my heart and emotions, fuck her, just fuck her!’  Bette got up from the bathroom straighten herself up and headed out.  She got ready for the gym and tried to not replay the letter in her head, that she had thrown away.  Tina looked over and was concerned on how Bette was pounding the treadmill like you would to mince meat.
