Love and Affection Chapter 34

Sorry everyone for the delay..been busy and just busy.

As Bette and Tina drove home, there was a silence that could break ice.  Bette was in shock of the news that she would be carrying twins.  It wasn’t a negative reaction really, just a shock, of what the hell?  Tina nervously drove through their neighborhood, not sure what to say Bette or what to do in the first place.  Of course they were excited…the whole aspect of getting married and having kids was a total excitement and dream of the two that they had wanted all their lives.  The beginning of it started with twins was a bit of the freaky part of the whole plan.  Tina looked over Bette.

“Say something..or I am gonna scream.”  Tina said with a meek smile.

“Look I am fine; it’s a lot for one person to take to just hear that they are going to have twins.  I am just absorbing the whole situation and trying to come to grips…I mean adjusting to the idea of the whole thing.”  Bette knew that saying coming to grips would not exactly be the reaction that she would want to hear if Tina said the same thing.  She sat in silence as they drove home and not much said as they entered their home.

Bette looked over at Tina, “I am starving, want to an egg salad sandwich?”   Bette smirked at the idea, before she was pregnant she hated salad sandwiches.  Tina nodded and headed to their bedroom.  As Tina laid her against the doorway and held a sob back, she could feel Bette behind her.

“T, it’s ok, I just need, and we need to adjust how we do.  We are human, it doesn’t make me love you more less or anything for our future.  We take it one step at time, it’s a process babe.”  Bette leaned in and kissed Tina on her neck.  “I love you no matter what.”  Bette rubbed her should and walked back into the kitchen to finish up their lunch.

Tina flopped on the bed and sighed.  She felt that she was pressuring Bette to be more open about her feelings of what she was feeling about having twins.  She thought to herself, what if it was me carrying twins?  How would I react?  Tina felt emotional and let the tears fall.  Tina too felt that it would be exhilarating and frightening at the same time.  Moments later, actually an hour later, she felt a caress and kiss on her forehead.  Tina blinked open her eyes and saw Bette.  She knew then, all was well, when she saw Bette mouths ‘I love you’.
